It bothers me that my ex would rather work on his car than go to his daughter's birthday party.
It bother's me that he chooses his new girlfriend over his daughter.
It also bothers me that when he does bother to come see her he stays for 15-30 min and part of that time is spent looking on his phone.
I could go on but I will stop there before I get myself totally upset.

Flower, things can change, but don't let your serenity be manhandled by his actions. He may or may not wake up in time for your daughter. It's his loss or gain, do not exspend your energy on trying to affect his choices. Step back from his actions as far as reallity will allow. SLEEP NUMBER BED all the way will pay extra for a motel and drive twenty miles farther for one. Do not get me started on drivers lol I used to be a OTR truck driver and have seen them all, and probally did some of them just to irriatate people.

I always like to think positive but it is bothering me that I am having such doubts about finding someone. It is sad that their are so many people looking and yet we don't find someone. The doubt feels like a cancer slowly taking over. I do not like that feeling in me.

Thank you all for the caring and trying to make us feel good.
My head knows all this that it will take time and it will or it won't be. It is just the heart and head together when one is thinking about being alone can make for a sad time of it. There is always the next day and thinks most of the time look brighter.
Winter is coming and I am not looking forward to it. I found out that when I was married I had someone to talk to etc. Being alone well there is no one not really. Kids adult or little aren't what I mean. Like you said all in due time. There is a reason and something I am to learn during this time. I am sure it will help me with my relationship when I find one

I seem to be leveling off (for want of a better phrase) in my search, I'm comfortable with a coffee/dinner and good conversation. It tends to get me by, plus becoming a bit set in my single ways/habits. Being way busy with all and zeroing in on completing projects helps keep me tired and occupied. And I'm thankful for this outlet to verbalize my rants and raves.

Just brought out the winter coat with lining. Just adds to my mood.
My other frustration are my expectations of how my life is suppose to be. I wish I could just accept what is and when able change what I can. I have much to be grateful for.

Things just work out the way they are supposed to, not always the way we wish, by any means. Hang in there, Barb. It does get better. We will always have good days and better days, but very few are truly bad when you stop to think about what "bad" really is.

I have a bit of a rant today... who me?
My little rant is about whats in the news: I would NEVER go shopping on Thanksgiving, but I don't understand the big deal with Wallyworld employees working. I can honestly say that the jobs I have had in my life, required that holidays were worked. People who work in the medical field, nursing homes, other caregivers, gas stations, airlines, hotel/motel employees, and so many others work holidays and I have never heard of anyone saying this is wrong, so I really do not get it.

Well I use to go to those black fridays but stopped. I am going to be by my daughter in WI and I got elected to go she has to be up and at work by 5am so she needs her sleep and asked me to go she wants stuff for the kids. For one I do not like shopping second I remember what it is like bodies packed waiting for them to unwrap the stuff so everyone can jump in all at once and grab! I am not looking forward to it at all!

Back to your rant about working the holiday. If the public did not want to shop and really wanted to be with famiy, then the public would stay away from stores open. Since I always take myself out to Thanksgiving dinner before going to work at the call center, I am grateful for the workers that provide the service. I owned a bed and breakfast for 13 years and the we were open for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We were always busy with our guests wanting to bring guests for breakfast. Mike and I gave our guests the days off so it was a lot of work for us. I am babbling.

WOW!!!!! You owned a bed and breakfast that is so damn cool! That would be so me! I would have a blast having a huge old house then decorating it up oh and each room would have a huge 2 person whirlpool tub with different seats in it and a reclining one too and a walk in shower done with stone so the look takes you back in time 200 years. Now the cooking would be fun but wouldn't want to be tired down to the kitchen so much so would have to hire someone for that. Oh and have someone on hand with a room decorated so dang cool for massages! Oh and outdoors have several hidding places. Several hot tubs that are totally hidden with bushes and trees and the door to get into there would be covered with greenery too! Thank you Barb for the nice imagination this brought to me for the day You will have to tell me what it really was like and send me some pictures of the place you had !
Harder Commercializing the holidays as been something that people have done for 1000s of years. The will find ways to make it no matter what. Sometimes it is a good thing sometimes it isn't! I choose not to go buy stuff during this time of the year! I no longer go into debt for 6 months just to satisfy others. For one after the holidays are over the prices on stuff clearance drops 75%. I then go and see if there is anything there that I want for others or myself. To explain how people are in order to make money go back in history. At the beginning of Oct. give or take two weeks is when Jesus was born. Ask yourself then why is it celebrated at the end of Dec.? There was a pegan group of people that thought the Sun was dying so they lit bomb fires at the end of Dec. What happens at the end of Dec.? The days start to get longer. So they thought they had done this with their bombfires. (i'm getting to the point ) So the comercial people knew that they could make more money by getting the people to bring the two events together. That is what they managed to do so now you have this big commercialized holiday. No one remembers the pagon culture anymore. And all believe Jesus was born in Dec. For the most part people have forgot what this holiday is to be about. St. Nicoloes was a real man. He lived in a small village and at the end of the year he would go door to door and leave a whiping stick on the steps of those kids that where bad kids and thought they needed to be whiped by their parents. What does he have to do with Jesus birth? Same as easter what does the easter bunny and eggs have to do with Jesus death? Both are symbols of fertility. They sure make the commercialized people a lot of MONEY though. So history shows that people have always been this way and will cont. I learned many years ago to stop the cycle for me. My kids never lacked for presents I felt they where luckier then most they got them all year long. I bought stuff at discount and wraped it up. They never believed in st. clause and they always knew what these holidays where to really stand for. It did cause some issues with other kids and their parents. Kids are kids and say it like it is and would tell others their was no st. clause even when I would tell them not to tell others because if their parents wanted to lie to them then so be it. It was not our place to tell them different. Wow I really am in a talkative mood today And you thought you where rambling Barb I got you topped lolololol Sorry everyone!

A simple life??? I would think it would require that all the basics to live would need to be provided. Housing, food, medical care, and sex,,,So, where is this garden of eden?? Many of us work our whole lives to build this island of life. For some the struggle has been sucessful, others have lost it or had it stolen from them, others have struggled but never quite attained it, and others are waiting for the government to give it to them. I've applied for a government loan to keep my island from sinking,, they saidand askedif I was . I got discusted with the whole process and went to the bar . Had a hangover and went to nthe emergency room, they said . I demanded my Obamacare. They said you are,that simply doesn't exist.. By then I was hungry, so I went to the grocery store, picked up a few things, when the cashier asked for cash I told her "I you. She said fine but you still need cash . Well I had to cough up some of my beer money . Went home to fry my meal, and the gas had been turned off. The utility company said I hadn't paid in 3 months, but I you didn't help here either. So here I am, after eating my bacon and eggs raw, in the hospital getting my Obamacare, eating 3 meals a day, staying warm with my extra blanket, and I've only been slapped 3 times for asking for sex. I'VE FOUND MY ISLAND OF THE SIMPLE LIFE.,, girls come visit me, I still haven;t found that sex thing

Well, me , I went to bed at 10, woke this am at 2:30. Doing a trip to w Iowa today, looking forward to it. Figure since I'm up, stripped the sheets and towels into the laundry, I'll come home to clean bedding.
A bit chilly in the house, furnace not kicking on,,,Change the filter,,,waiting to see if it kicks in,,,did some demo that kicked up dust,, will try the manual read the codes and see if my trip is delayed. Grrr. Well maybe I'll have cold clean sheets??? so what's new.

Well that was easy, no not finding a warm body for my sheets, getting the furnace to kick in. . Had same problem earlier, repair kid showed me a connection that was getting bad. At that time he wiggled it and it kicked in, then he could not get it to act up again. He said a bad circit board, I would need to buy a major piece if it contiued to act up, $900. It has behaved for 3 months, I'll see how it does while I'm gone. I'll have my step son check on it, and be more diligent on changing filters.
Life ain't all bad, just bumps and bruises now and then, and they are far from fatal.

I have twisted my pelvis and cannot get to chiropractor until Monday. Just needed to whine. It hurts so bad. Trying to stretch to relax the muscles. It is going to be a long several days.
