I want to start watching movies from the 60's through the 90's.

Yesterday I watched Thelma and Louise. I don't recall ever seeing this one.

What old movies do you like to watch again and again or do you have any that you would like to watch for the first time?

Next on my list is Fried Green Tomatoes.

Platoon and Full Metal Jacket, Dancing With Wolves, and of course, Gone with the Wind. Alien, like to see Avatar again. And then there are the movies that I cant stand to see again. lol.

Last night I watched, "A Place In The Sun."

Made in 1951 with Montgomery Cliff, Elizabeth Taylor, and Shelly Winters.

I did see this movie years ago.

That Montgomery Cliff was easy on the eyes.

I'm watching "Rio Bravo."

Made in 1959, starring John Wayne, my hero.

In the opening there was a young boy named Colorado.

I looked at him and thought I knew who it was.

Had to look it up on line to make sure.

Yes, it was who I thought it was, a very young Ricky Nelson.

He looks to be about 14 years old.

Not very old but "We Were Soldiers Once, and Young". My uncle was in this battle and one of the few to survive. In the trailer at the end of the movie he is shown with two other men and each wounded. They had walked out by holding each other up. One with a wounded arm (my uncle) one almost blind from his wound, and the 3rd wounded in the leg. Their picture was on the front cover of Life magazine and titled "Takes 3 to make 1".

This isn't a classic movie and some may never heard of it, but was at a thrift store yesterday and found a DVD. The movie is called "I AM SAM". I saw this on TV many years ago and it's heart warming. Has a little comedy thrown in but basically is about a character builder of this guy who was put in a Retardation facility when a small child. He grew with the exposure to others suffering retardation and that was all he knew. A social worker came on scene and recognized some signals that made her question whether or not he was handicapped and what his learning capacity may actually be. Turns out his problem was due to a closed environment and this was all he knew so mimic'd. She works with him to develop social skills with the hope of introducing him into the world.

Very heartwarming, a little sad, yet with a little humor thrown in.

OOPS, I made an error when describing the movie "I AM SAM". It was not the one I was thinking of but is of a mentally challanged guy who has lost his child to social services and an attorney who fights to get it back in his care.
