DISGUSTED ......TOTALLY DISGUSTED!!!! by bikerangel3 at 5/26/2008 9:04:45 PM I live in Middle Village ,Queens N.Y. and the lack of any awareness of the meaning of Memorial Day here has sickend me!!!!! There was 1 Flag Flown to Honor OUR Veterans & Support OUR Troops on my entire block. You got it My House. The over decoration for every other holiday is massive . I have seen homes where the owners have obviously spent 100's of dollars to celebrate St. Patricks Day ,Valentines Day ,Halloween Christstmas,Easter and New Years Day . But on this Memorial Day as I walked around the nieghborhood passing over 250 homes , a very large cemetary, a park of over 85 acres and about 80 businesses I saw exacyly 3 homes celebrating Memorial Day !!! Period!!! Saw plenty of folks Bar-B-Queing , Hanging out in the park,Having parties But not a single acknowledgement of the Day!!!! At this time I am FURIOUS !! No parade No gathering at the Memorial Flags in the park .No public gatherings With Speeches from Community Leaders,Patriotic Music,not a word to Honor Our Veterans. Was just anotther day here !!! I am ashamed of Each & Every Human Being where I live !!! I am appalled at our town Politicians and Community Leaders, The Local VFW for thier lack of Gratitude for Those who Sacrificed so Much & Those Who Gave ALL for the freedoms enjoyed here with no acknowledgement of Those Who Paid for These Freedoms. Will have more to say on this Later in the week .

judge15235	5/27/2008 7:40:21 AM On Friday, May 23, I was traveling on I81 south in Harrisburg,Pa. I stopped at a rest area. There were two dozen Harleys parked there, the group of riders were on their way to Washington DC, for a parade. They were the COMBAT VETERANS ASSOCIATION. I was proud to have an opportunity to meet some of the men. They served in Viet Nam, Desert Storm, etc. I fly my flag with pride, we are the most nobel country in the world. No other country can even come close.
honestinlov4u	5/27/2008 3:06:41 PM judge, I am on a couple of sites here, the others bash Americans and there is no mention of Memorial Day. If you knew me you would know I speak up. I reminded the English we took care of those dropping bombs on them, and the French, That their country would probably have a different name had we not joined in the foray. BUT, I agree with Angel, there were no flags here. oh yes one or two places that would be it. I went into "town" the same thing...SAD day all!
frisky66	6/1/2008 3:53:02 PM I PLAYED TROMBONE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND AND WE ALWAYS DID A GREAT TRIBUTE TO ALL THE FALLEN SOLDIERS THAT GAVE IT ALL FOR OUR FREEDOM.
