I would have to say that love is a gift when we give it to others, but it is a necessity in order to for us be be able to show any type of kindness, compassion, or love towards others. We also need to truly love ourselves 1st before we can give love to others. But maybe that's just me. Lol. Nice blog.

If you think about it for a minute, we don't feel "horny" when we are struggling with a life-threatening illness. We don't think about "love" when we have no money, and are about to get kicked out of our home. We won't worry about the one that got away when we haven't eaten for days. It's all relative. Love is a gift to be enjoyed during the special times in our lives when we can appreciate it.

Someone brought this to my attention today and felt the need to point that out to her. Maybe it was due to her being jaded, but couldn't help to stop and think about it. @ soccer, Yes in a way I can agree with it to a certain extent. Haven't seen the Ralph movie, but it sounds like something I'd be interested in.......gamer

Love is the centerpiece of life due to the fact that the ultimate form of love which is producing an offspring requires some form of emotional love from two parties. To me, people only view it as an necessity if they never been in it to begin with. @ lake , very well articulated and put and basically my thoughts exactly on the matter. @ peezp , I'm good, just coming from working out and about to play some Call Of Duty, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. Remember that orphanage (I think in Russia?) where they found that the babies that were not held and coddled, died? Those who are unable to give or receive love suffer more from depression, substance abuse issues and have more law violations.

And I do agree that lack of love can lead into depression and other toxic and harmful things for the body......gamer
