gamer...... I would have to say that love is a gift when we give it to others, but it is a necessity in order to for us be be able to show any type of kindness, compassion, or love towards others. We also need to truly love ourselves 1st before we can give love to others. But maybe that's just me. Lol. Nice blog.

I agree.

btw - you should go watch Wreck-It Ralph in the movies. So many old school game references in there....plus it's a good movie, video game references aside.

We must have love in some form...just as we must hav food, air and water...Love comes in many forms and I have found when you have love in your heart, love comes to you....Of course I am not talking about romantic love....thats specialand differnt and wonderfulm when its real...All love needs to be honored but romantic love needs to be cherished.JMHO

Your statement is based on psychological research from people who have studied the subject. If you think about it for a minute, we don't feel "horny" when we are struggling with a life-threatening illness. We don't think about "love" when we have no money, and are about to get kicked out of our home. We won't worry about the one that got away when we haven't eaten for days. It's all relative. Love is a gift to be enjoyed during the special times in our lives when we can appreciate it.

the ability to love yourself is a necessity. the ability to love others is a gift.

@ cats , in a sense, it can be true, but in another perspective, it may be viewed as skewed. @ real , along the same line of thinking as me quite honestly. Someone brought this to my attention today and felt the need to point that out to her. Maybe it was due to her being jaded, but couldn't help to stop and think about it. @ soccer, Yes in a way I can agree with it to a certain extent. Haven't seen the Ralph movie, but it sounds like something I'd be interested in.......gamer

@ moon , agreed with everything you stated. Love is the centerpiece of life due to the fact that the ultimate form of love which is producing an offspring requires some form of emotional love from two parties. To me, people only view it as an necessity if they never been in it to begin with. @ lake , very well articulated and put and basically my thoughts exactly on the matter. @ peezp , I'm good, just coming from working out and about to play some Call Of Duty, Zelda, and Final Fantasy. How are you?......gamer

@ Tat , agreed and thanks for stopping by. @ karm , right on the money with that comment. I mean, the statement that got me thinking almost to the point where I was basically lost in thought and had to know what others thinks......gamer

@gamer...... I found it to be an interesting statement. It is also interesting to see hear the different responses.

Love and attention are vital to physical and emotional growth and well-being. Remember that orphanage (I think in Russia?) where they found that the babies that were not held and coddled, died? Those who are unable to give or receive love suffer more from depression, substance abuse issues and have more law violations.

@ 4 real, I found it to be an interesting statement as well, hence the reason why I was lost in thought for a while interpreting its meaning for my own understanding of it. @ sireena , very interesting point and I read up on that too. And I do agree that lack of love can lead into depression and other toxic and harmful things for the body......gamer
