Not sure I understand...so I post connections about random statistics... Over there across the big lake in Europe, they start educating their kids in responsible sexual behavior the minute they enter school and they have a FAR lower teen pregnancy rate than we do..... Draw your own conclusions

It's called over population.. Too many babies, not enough resources or responsible mothers. It would kill more ppl actually if everyone was having kids, not knowing they can provide for it. Every species on the planet needs stability or they go extinct. As cruel it may seem , that's nature.

Yep,,,,America is becoming the new Mystery Babylon dear...outline in Rev 18... Sorry but you asked the question. Human life is a pill away from being less valuable like scum.

Sorry Coke...I seriously doubt that "overpopulation" is even remotely a part of their motivation for this atrocity dear.

Itii,,A.) The morning after pill PREVENTS CONCEPTION. It is different from the abortion pill and has nothing to do with human life B.)Rev 18, like the rest of the Bible, can be made to say anything that is convenient to the person quoting it. I know this cause I used to thump the Bible ..but that is another story for another time

robinbrowno65
5/1/2013 11:03:07 PM

Oh yeah and C.) The world is not overpopulated. Certain areas of the world have a more dense population. This does not make the world over populated

robinbrowno65

...and I am still not understanding what the "atrocity" is

sireena

Then you are obviously not the mother of a teenage girl...seriously??? Damn!

cokenrum23

not that I believe in abortion, which I dont. But it's more harmful to bring a child into the world , when you can't provide for it. As a 15- 18 yr old girl in a failing economy. It only feeds poverty and struggle. The times have changed. It's 10 times more difficult to raise a kid financially than it was 20 years ago. If the economy was good enough where a single woman being 15- 19 could provide a good living on their own, then that's understandable . But what the results we see now are the opposite. More young girls are stressed than ever in history while relying government to make it through. It's easier to just Wait until you have a stable lifestyle . This era is Not like the 70's, 80's or 90's.

I have to say that i'm 33 and have been with a lot of women (No bs) but have never gotten a girl pregnant! Why? Cuz i'm smart, good and know what i'm doing, lol

No Sireena my daughter just turned 25 and my only granddaughter is not even 3 for 5 more days

I think some here may be missing the point! It's not about abortion...these girls won't have a clue! As a parent, it is and SHOULD be our right to have input about what our children do or don't do to their bodies. There are NO long term studies regarding the effects of this drug if it is misused...which I guarantee, it will be. Children are considered minors for a reason. They don't have the experience and/or maturity to make decisions like this nor do they think about consequences...hence the reason many will turn to using this drug in the first place.

And Clint...I'm damn sick and tired of you denying your paternity of our child...knock it off!

FINALLY! NOW I understand the "atrocity". I would not call it an "atrocity". My daughter would have talked to me about making some kind of move like that so in our family whatever the FDA has done would be a non issue. It IS possible who raise kids who talk with their parents regardless of what the FDA does but that kinda starts at birth. By the time they are teenagers it is too late. The FDA is not responsible for our kids....::::::shrugs::::

EUROPE IS SLOWLY DYING IT IS NOT REPLACING THE PEAPLE WHO ARE DYING,CERTAIN COUNTRYS ARE PAYING GIRLS TOO HAVE BABIES IF THE DEATH RATE IS OVER 2 PERCENT AND THE BIRTH RATEIS ONLY 1.5 PERCENT YOU FIGURE IT OUT,YOU HAVE AN AGING POPULATION WITH NO YOUNG WORK FORCE TO SUPPORT THEM,WHAT THEN,YOU FIGURE IT OUT,LOVE,JOHNNY

I didn't say the FDA was responsible for our kids. The fact of the matter is, the government doesn't want parents to have responsibility either. 15 year old girls are not capable of making rational decisions, especially when it comes to sex. Good for you robin for having that kind of relationship with your daughter, but as a social worker for 20 years, I can say without a doubt, many don't and the consequences of a young girl inappropriately using the Plan B as a form of birth control and perhaps causing irreversible damage to her uterus is an atrocity.

Maybe a good thing, if our young are at such a sexual nature and not mature enough to handle having kids, ...

cokenrum23
5/1/2013 11:35:10 PM

I've gotten a girl pregnant once , an I respectfully let her choose what she wants to do. She thought rationally about it , an simply made the choice to take the pill knowing that she or I could not yet provide a stable financial living yet for a kid while attempting to make a career for ourselves. If young girls would actually think about it first, they would make a smarter choice, an save it for the later future. You have until your 40's to have a kid , whats the hurry?? lol..Honestly i dont think this new plan b option for teens is entirely bad. That's why females have more than one egg, an men have millions of sperm cells lol. Save it for another day

I am pro choice, for reasons we won't get into. I have no problems with the morning after pill WHEN IT IS GIVIN TO ADULTS. Have you read the side effects and know exactly how and why it works? I do not have kids, if my 15 y/o wanted to take this for any reason the answer would be no. There are far safer alternatives.

Still missing some major points...who is going to monitor this? This drug alters the natural chemistry of a woman's major reproductive organ. There are no long term studies that I've seen that can accurately guarantee that there will not be long term consequences for its' use. How many birth control methods have been found to have horrible after-effects...stroke, heart attack, trouble conceiving, etc. etc.? Would you honestly condone YOUR child having unlimited access to any drug without your knowledge or consent?

@ Roxy,

I agree, 15 year old kids shouldn't be having sex.

Sireena i agree with you. In any other aspect of a child's life under 18 years old The parents responsible for the child. So why is this different? We as parents are having our rights taken away. A 15 year old is not responsible enough to make that decision. They have no idea how it will effect the rest of your life when they have no life experience

Have never posted on your blogs, but this one is too important!! I choke when I see things like this. It's only just the beginning of a down hill slide. Pandora's box has been opened and there's no shutting it.

I agree with you sireena. Parents rights are taken away more and more every day and they wonder why we have such a drug problem ,seem they want to shove a pill to you for everything, Guess they're all out to make money in the medical industry no matter what the age is of the user.

I am a mother of 3 teenagers and I feel I have lost my rights as a parent. I don't agree with them taking the morning after pill, and it being available to my teenager(with out my consent), HOWEVER, I do think as parents we gotta pull our heads out of our azz, and if our teenagers are sexually active, we need to teach them responsibilities. Such the use of Birth controls, proper ones.

It took me some reading to see your concern … and when I did, I agree that the studies are not complete on the side effects. And we who have taken chemo, radiation and estrogen blockers for cancers do know the devastating side effects of pharmaceutical products.

Since we all have endured the powerful feelings of lust in our youth, it is imperative to have open conversations with children (both boys and girls) about sex and their bodies and wise choices. I am sure you have had those and your children would come to you.

But, unfortunately, many children do not have that safe environment and this may be their only answer to sexual abuse from a family member or family friend.

Those who have provided family values and security do not have to worry about the government policies regarding this. As you know, many laws and policies are made because some yahoo did something that was unspeakable. And when we see these laws we are bewildered that common sense did not prevail.

Keep writing and keep us thinking!

Got a 27 yr. old daughter that talked with me about when she was ready to get on birth control pills!! Thank God we had that type of relationship,(and still do). Being close to your kids is really an advantage, and don't act like it's the end of the world if they decide they're ready to have sex, I did'nt and glad she was open with me I even sat in the room while she had her exam... if they stay busy and are open with you... I don't think we need to worry, or at least that's what worked for me!! (jmo)

If proper upbringing and religious ideals still doesn't keep kids from being sexual active and taking the proper steps in birth control, then the parents have lost control of their children. It's cheaper than an abortion, and some children just aren't ready for that responsiblity, or if they're raped, by all means (( Yes.))

Thanks for all the input peeps! It's an interesting issue for sure. One thing that was not mentioned here is that the Plan-B pill "prevents" a pregnancy by altering the chemistry of the lining of the uterus. That said, a girl is not necessarily pregnant and it's not an "abortion" issue in the true sense. But I foresee these young girls using it as a form of birth control, perhaps many times if there is no regulation. These girls may be damaging the uterus to the extent that they will not be able to carry a child when/if they choose to do so later in life....
