getting a job
by pretty89 at 3/23/2009 7:15:48 PM

-I've heard from several animal hospital managers and veterinarians that I did not get the job I wanted. I'm so ready to be a veterinary technician. I grew up with a passion to work with animals. I always wanted a job where I can not only play with animals but learn more about them and take care of them as well. It's what I went to school for. So when the day comes that I finally get a job, I'll try to be the best vet tech I can be.
-I was volunteering at an animal shelter for cats. The moment I walked in the door for the first time, everyone was very nice. However, the supervisors proved to be not so nice behind there nice smiling faces in the beginning. There was so many times when not only I was pulled aside to be talked to, but anytime anyone made a mistake, was too slow, or anything went wrong, the supervisors went crazy and everyone attended a meeting to get things straightened out. Even after the meeting things were too much. So I left because things just weren't right for me. Hopefully I get a job where I feel at least somewhat comfortable.
-After going through several interviews and the failed attempt at a cat shelter, I'm hoping to find something good. The placement director from school has been helping me. The problem is, if I accept a job at a place where she helped me, I am forced to stay there for at least a year whether I like it or not. I can only leave if the situation is serious, like a serious sickness or something like that. I forgot what the rules were but we were made to sign a contract for school that had the rules. If I find a job on my own, I can stay for however long I want. Either way I want to be happy wherever I work.
