They don't speak for all of us? by darctitan at 1/31/2011 11:00:54 AM I'm not pointing any fingers or mentioning any names. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE* I'm sick and tired of reading one of my fellow African Americans Blogs and disgusted at what I see. I see the worst grammar being used and the word Nigga thrown out there like nothing.That's not even the bad part of it all, when being confronted or asked why they speak like this, the only smart defense is..(BECAUSE I'M BLACK ) Are you serious, that's the defense you can come up with? Now I see why we get the label of being ignorant and lack the verbal skills to fit in with society. My friends, there is nothing wrong with talking this way to your friends, at home or in a club etc However, when you speak and voice an important opinion in PUBLIC FORUM, please show at least 70% of educational skills. Pleez no mo of dis shiyt dat make no since what i be sayin and niggas be mad at me cuz i be sayn dis to dem

They haven't a clue what oppression really is. I gratefully point out though that at this point the only one oppressing them is themselves! msmyka	1/31/2011 11:19:32 AM @rayn - the sense of entitlement seems to be a common trait in young people of any race, creed or socioeconomic background. So sad that a lot of these kids are not much younger than me but I refer to them as kids because of the way they behave. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing but no one is smacking these little smart-mouthed brats around anymore to teach them not to be jerks.

I had a job once and all these young boys were working there, they used the "ghetto talk" on the job, my boss asked me to translate... I cursed my boss out for thinking that I would understand it, and then cursed the boys out for bring that BS into a work enviornment ( come to think of it I got away with a lot of shit on that job) Needless to say my bosses never asked me to translate ghetto speak again @msmyka: They are looking for excuses! Entitlement my ass! I would beat my kids in the street if they presented themselves like this in a PUBLIC arena. I don't rightly care about facebook, only your friends can see how you speak there. Somewhere like this, where you are going in to a forum and asking people of all walks of life a question... you might as well stand in the street and do it ( at least there we wouldn't have to see how they spell it). I am tired of watching these CHILDREN throw their lives and opportunities away. In the course of AMERICAN history alone there are so many nationalities that had to FIGHT for the right to educate their children and become more than someone's slave/ lapdog. Maybe they missed that part, it was a FIGHT. PEOPLE DIED to give us the rights that these little ignorant asses just throw in the toilet... smdh leave them alone with me for a week... I will fix that shit!

Also sad that they don't set their sights higher and try to fit in with people who are going somewhere in life, professionally and financially and not weighed down by the burdens of ignorance and poverty. My daughter is a professional counselor, and her only job is to get financial aid for those who need it at a community college in our area. No one need to be mired in this morass of failure unless he chooses to be. It takes work, patience and tenacity but you can be whatever you want to be, regardless of race, gender, or social class. Our society will support your efforts IF you make an equal effort to strive for greatness.
