Give directly to Homeless Families
by josephfromabove at 12/2/2011 4:40:44 AM

Sometimes I will ride around, and look in parking lots of shopping centers, or malls, and hospitals to see if I can spot a homeless family, just trying to live, and stay together. They hide from theives, police, and social services at night mostly in these places to keep from losing their children to foster homes. So instead of giving the local Salvation Army's Colonel a new car this year, because 80 per cent of all charity money is for their so-called overhead costs, give directly, and watch a child's face light up, and smile, because they get to spend a night, ot two in a warm room with a warm meal. If social services find them they will put them in a room for a month, but if one, or both of the parents do not find a job, then the children are taken to foster homes. Have you heard about how a lot of these foster homes are medicating their children to control them, sounds like a children's Hell on Earth to me. Give to the homeless families, when you are out shopping instead of buying an extra present for someone. I found one such familiy in a hospital emergency room parking lot, and the Father was spending the night outside of the car sitting on a cooler to keep watch over them. Why a hospital? So they could use the water fountains, and use the bathromm 24/7, that is why. Those things are take for granted, by people in homes.

Where are the Churches!? Perhaps instead of using contributions from congregants, to build new. bigger and more ostentationus edifices, they should make it their policy to use those contributions to help the elderly and "Home " the homeless...in each community...

working in healthcare.I see the homeless that spend the night in the ER...its safe, when they are allowed to stay even. When I left Tennessee....a girl that lived in my Condo's had a girl with 3young boys who she took in to keep them from hiding in an abuse shelter....I gave her enough to start a home from room to room....its just stuff and it went to help a family in need....

Christ himself did not teach from a church. I agree all the money for the large buildings should go to the needy, instead of the preacher's new car. Christ did not have a wagon, and rarely did he ride a donkey. Money directly to the homeless families will both heal the children some, and you as well. There is a beautiful warm glow you get from a child who is grateful to you, and that is worth more than all the jewels in the world.

I am not stating these issues to brag, or "toot my own horn". I just want you to give to families that need it directly, instead of an incorporated churches, or charities, who uses 80 per cent for "overhead". I don't need recognition for what I do, the children smiling is all I need, and a handshake from their Mom, and Father is more than enough payment.

The best idea in today's society is to assist the children when needed, they are innocent, and defenseless. To assist their parents is to assist them. There are too many multi-million dollar churches, and charities, not any will take in homeless families into them to stay for breif amount of time. Only Salvation Army, but you lose 80 percent for those uniforms, and new cars they drive. As always Karen you are too kind, That was a wonderful compliment.

Once again I pose the question to you here as in your blog. Does your church render money, and assistance to homeless families in need? A simple yes, or no will suffice and not any more rhetorical answers will.
