Best Item for a emergency safety kit
by josephfromabove at 4/30/2012 5:02:36 PM

Most people remember the bottled water, batteries, blankets, canned food, and most of the emergency items in case of a power outage, or storm outage. Here In NC we get hurricanes, and now tornadoes are on the rise again, we had 64 last April 2011, in one day. five struck here in Fayetteville, now there is eartquake activity in Georgia, and Virginia, and the entire east coast is sitting on the same bedrock. Small quakes recently 1.4, and 2.1 but that is where there has not been any since the 1800's except for the 4.6 in Virginia.
Now to the point, the one item everybody should have for tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes, is a construction hard hat, bicycle helmet, motorcycle helmet, baseball, or football helmet. Head protection everybody forgets about. I had just seen a news cast where this little boy was saved by his little league batting helmet, when a tornado tossed him about, and bashed his head against a tree. So folks head protection is the best item in your emergency kit, I have 3 hard hats, a motorcycle helmet, and a bicycle helmet. Think safety

I don't drink, or smoke ezgoingru. The most economical and easily bought of all is a bicycle helment at a department store, or bike shop. The construction hard hats can be bought at any home improvement stores, or building supply centers. You ladies are welcome for the suggestion, just tell all of your friends in tornado alley, and the earthquake zones.

I would have never thought of that....you might be able to honker down but stuff is flying around all over, even in bad lightening storms...

Fortunately, I use my brains rather than my groin for gathering information, and I do want them to be in excellent condition as they are presently, Susycutie. Ikavour92 on the otherhand is a wise lady who deserves any usable suggestion I can relay. When the crap hits the fan, I want my brains to stay where they are, and I am postive she desires to keep her with her as well.
