Why do so many people choose not to show themselves ? I do not now how you women feel but as a man I am a very visual person and feel all of us should show recent pictures but several including full shots so we can decide if you if we find each other appealing and that is difficult with only a head shot or a picture of the person snow skiing. I tried to depict who I am through pics., may I have the same in return ? not complaining just asking.Thankyou.

I have heard good reasons for women not showing pics but as far as men I haven't heard any good reasons. I heard that some women have been abused and they are being followed by an ex or stalker. A lot of times if you just ask privately for a pic then they have no problem sending it to your email.

I can only talk for myself. Before I joined DH 3 months ago, my daughters warned me to be extremely careful, (they heard stories), so I did not posted a picture until I felt comfortable with this site.

 does it really matter if anyone post a pic or not ?
i've meet several and when you look at the pic then see the actual person
they don't look like the pic they posted  i don't understand why
people don't post updated pic's, come on people put up who you really are NOW
not who you were 2 3 4 years ago, everyone ages over the months.

Maybe people that live in a small town dont want the guys
to know that they are on this cuz maybe they work with them
and they dont need them saying HEY I SAW YOUR PROFILE ON DATE

Not that it really matters, but initially I didn't post one since the only pics I have of me are 15+ years old and didn't want to use them. That is a whole different thread...
It finally dawned on me that I have a lovely drivers license pic (not sure I have ever seen a lovely one) I scanned it and did forward to a few chosen that asked... I could always put that one up, but there has been so many threads about pics or no pics that I just haven't bothered.
While I am not the cutest and am getting older - I am not ugly. I have been told I am beautiful and not just from family. I still get hit on by strangers in the grocery store and other establishments so I can't be that bad... although I did try to post it on another site and the pic doesn't seem to stick.... think I am going to just not post one there too...
If you truely want to meet someone - if you are butt ugly, they will notice it when you meet or if you share your pic before you meet - so it would be stupid to think that not posting a pic is going to keep people from knowing you are ugly....
