It will as an annual, but not as a perennial. However, you could also try it indoors as a houseplant.
Find out what your growing zone is (probably 2 or 3) and every plant sold anywhere has a zone # attached to it.
This is the 'hardiness' of the plant.
Butterfly bush requires zone 5.
zones are 1 to 9 with 1 being very short & cold, 9 being anything will grow.

My moon vine is coming along. Nictotenia (spelling?) has a great scent, and I love stocks. I like hoyas, too, and
wish I lived in a milder climate and could grow all the beautiful tropicals.

Its a tossup between my Giant Sequoias and my Coast Redwoods, I like the Redwoods because of their distinctive bark color and their fern like leaves, however I like the foliage on the Giant Sequoias. I planted them back in the spring and they are all doing great.

My favorite plant is Night Blooming Jasmine, a shrub that can get as tall as 16 feet. In the evenings, its perfume will envelop your entire garden. I love planting it near windows and doors. If you leave a window open, your whole house will fill with its perfume.

It sounds wonderful. Did a quick read about it. But darn it all . . . it won't do well in my area.
Enjoy !

Mine would have to be a lemon tree, I plant them wherever I live. The blossoms smell great, the
lemons are so cheerful -looking hanging on the tree, and love fresh lemonade!
I favor Marijuana. I like the smell , the look, the taste....

I raise roses, have about 50 of them. My favorite is a lavender one with hot pink on the tips of and underneath the petals. The longer it is on the stem, the more the hot pink starts coming through. I have another one that is white with yellow and light pink on the edges of the petals that I like alot.

Love anything Hydrangea but probably the Oakleaf the best . Heavenly Bamboo or Nandina for shade to Deep Shade , Dappled Willows for wet areas , Blackberry Lilies for the flower and the fall seedpod , tricolored Beech would probably be My favorite Ornamental tree from My experiences , I appreciate ornamental grasses in all forms , love Hellebores or Lenten Roses for neat foliage and an interesting bloom ( early here in Ohio ) Zone 5 . You have opened a topic I love , I am having great results w/ Red Knockout Roses , expecially in mass or in soft symetrical patterns .
A neat ground cover that does well for Me in Zone 5 is Soapwort with smallish pink flowers , Spiderwort and I love Cranesbill .
I landscape as a living and recommend many plants and these are some of My favorites , Green and Growing , Have a Great FALL '09 ...........

The Mimosa tree looks like little pink feathers of a bird blooming on them .
Crepe Myrtles are colorful even when small and have unusual "peeling" bark they grow quickly.
Mexican purple petunias bloom every day here from spring to freeze and love sun and water, easy to transplant from just a stem stuck in the ground with lots of water.
I have them everywhere and the humming birds and butterflies are attracted to the shape and color. Mix in Black Eyed Susans for a fall bloom and that school bus yellow against the purple and green makes your yard look happy and inviting.
Inexpensive to landscape with.
Love Rosemary also, smells great and gets huge.Keep it by the front door.
I can't get lavender to live for some reason.
Sorry couldn't pick just one...If a gun were to my head, Crepe Myrtles in lots of different colors esp purple and white together.

Favorite tree: Weeping Willow. I also love oaks and redwoods. Perhaps my second favorite tree type is the giant Sequoia redwoods. Favorite individual tree would either be The General Sherman Tree in Sequoia national forest (largest living organism on Earth, above ground) or a tree we call "The grandma tree" that lives in a local oak preserve. She's a beautiful several hundred (estimates are actually 1000 years+!) year old oak tree. I think she's black oak.
Favorite flower: Either lavender or roses. Really hard to pick as there are lots of beautiful flowers. I also love orchids!
Favorite plant: I love too many.
