One of my favorite places to visit and go rock hounding is to RUGGLES MINE located in Grafton on Route 4, northwest of Concord. About a 40 minute drive from Concord or 35
minutes southeast of Lebanon from Interstate 89 or Route 4. Make sure you wear sneakers for walking in and out of caves and over the boulders etc. Great view from the parking lot so be sure to bring the camera with you also. Bring a hammer etc. if your a real rock hound but you can also rent them there on site. A canvas bag for all your finds would also be smart to bring with you. If you go to Ruggles Mine enjoy !!!

I like to take my cooler and blanket and join my friends at Prescott Park, Portsmouth NH for the Saturday outdoor concerts that start in July. Each Saturday there is a concert, that I believe starts around the beginning oj July in the late afternoon. There is nothing like hangin with friends, listening to awesome music, while soaking up the sun on the banks of the Piscataqua River....

Come on people from NH.....how do you expect to meet other people and find out where they may like to visit if YOU don't say where YOU like to visit. Another couple of places to visit if your interested in the Native American Culture is to the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum in Warner, NH off of I89, with a Pow Wow also held in the summer. One of my absolute favorite Pow Wow's is held in Sanborton (near Franklin/Tilton). Located at a campground the vendors are all set up with their wares under the canopy of trees; with all the trails leading up and meeting at the dance circle. They also make the BEST fried dough.....mmmmmm. Awesome place to visit and also camp out for the weekend. The Dartmouth Pow Wow is held in May at Hanover and they have indigenous (native; aborigine) people from all over the world...Hawaii, Australia, South America, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand etc.
Please everyone just get up and out in
NEW HAMPSHIRE....make the old man proud!!

Call your town clerk to find out when your town is going to have it's yearly "Old Home Day" celebration! Or even some of the other town's close to where your living in the state........a great way to get out and meet other people and maybe join in a contest or two. Do they have a cooking contest?? Pitching horseshoes?? etc.....
It's nice to meet people here on the computer but so much nicer to meet people in person....so GET UP & OUT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE......enjoy!!

Laura....you are so right in suggesting that people get out and explore New Hampshire. We have some awesome things to do here. One of my favorite is to ride the gondola to the top of Cannon Mountain and have a picnic. The view is gorgeous on a clear day, you can see 3 states and Canada. You don't even have to be that athletic to go to the top and have some fun. At the bottom of the mountain is a nice lake and swimming area. Check it out. Also in Franklin there is a garden area called Tarbin Gardens. They are well kept by a son and mother team who are from England. They have laid out some nice walking paths and sitting areas to stop and just enjoy the scenery. That is off RT. 127 south. Newcastle Commons offers some nice areas, also, for swimming and picnicing. There is shade and sun...a ballfield and there are restrooms too. You have a great ocean view and can watch the boats come in and out of the harbor. So peaceful. So get out there and explore and enjoy what this state has to offer and have some fun.

Cathedral Ledge rocks ,Newcastle Commons.and of course Clarks Trading post.Also the Great Bay Animal refuge out on Pease is an awesome place to walk as is the Urban Forestry Center.
I would say come to downtown Portsmouth but the town fathers have f@#$ked it all up with garish hotels and such. only thing worth it is Prescott Park.Beautiful place with a great old cemetary.

Sanbornton POW WOW (near Franklin) is Aug. 30 & 31......a wonderful day out in New Hampshire.....will be going on Saturday the 30th.....might even wear my cowboy hat and you just might recognize me. Laura

I make all different types of jewelry but I actually started out with makeing totem necklaces.....I usually have my book in the car with me so......just in case we do see each other you can take a peek. I also make collectable walking sticks and my boyfriend and I will be walking with some of them.....A great friend of mine died recently---wally whitford from Danbury...know as the village whittler....and I'll be using one of his walking sticks and it will look like a woodspirit but also has a protruding nose...Wally was an awesome man and had taught me how to make the walking sticks.....One of them is a Shaman's Staff with a burned eagle on it.......hope to see you there...on Sat. the 30th
