Embracing the Way, you become embraced;
Breathing gently, you become newborn;
Clearing your mind, you become clear;
Nurturing your children, you become impartial;
Opening your heart, you become accepted;
Accepting the world, you embrace the Way.
Bearing and nurturing,
Creating but not owning,
Giving without demanding,
This is harmony.
sorry to highjack your Taoist thread, but i couldn't let it die

I am happy to see this thread My introduction to Taoism came through one of my most prized possessions, the I Ching, my fave oracle.. through it's divination.. I discovered "the way"..

True perfection seems imperfect,
yet it is perfectly itself.
True fullness seems empty,
yet it is fully present.
True straightness seems crooked.
True wisdom seems foolish.
True art seems artless.
The Master allows things to happen.
She shapes events as they come.
She steps out of the way
and lets the Tao speak for itself.

Which translation do you read?
I personally use the Steven Mitchell translation.
A few of my friends prefer a more traditional one.
I like the Mitchell one partly due to Byron Katie,
his wife. She and Wayne Dyer did a presentation
together in which I learned of it.

Hey Marlo
My at home version is the Victor Mair translation, but the one I posted last night I took from an online source and didn't get the author's name.
Do you have the I Ching?

Yes.
The Tao can be read in an afternoon
and pondered for a lifetime.
