This matches the other thread, "ARE WE DESPERATE?"

A first internet meeting would be appropriate for coffee and I always buy own at any 1st meeting. If he ask me out again, he should pay. If I ask him out, I'll pay.
That's fair!

One sure way to not meet someone on this sight is let them know you're cheap.

I think it depends...

Some people are old fashion and believe the guy always pays for the first date, others in today's age feels more of a dutch approach..I think it depends on the people.

Dating doesn't have to be expensive though.

I was raised by a very old fashion dad, I didn't ask guys out, I didn't pay for dates, I didn't drive to them and even as I have became older I would pay and drive it is veto'd by my seems to be an old fashioned guy here that I love so much

Again, just depends on the people and how they feel, but if you are saying you are cheap it def isn't a way to attract the ladies

I agree with the OP.

And a LOT of women are professional daters. I call these women this who go on just first dates with no intention of seeing the guy a second time. All he did was pay for her entertainment . And that was her intention so she could spend her money on herself.

And by going dutch, there is no feeling of obligation on the woman's part to put out as a reward for buying dinner.

Everything stays on a level playing field.

Now if you are willing to meet at a park and we pass a place selling sodas, I will be glad to pay. But a steak dinner on a meet and greet-I don't think so.

To women who say that you ever asks the other out should pay, the few times I have been asked out, I still wind up paying for both of us.

So if it IS a meet and greet, dutch is the only fair thing in this recession. Most people are having a hard time these days financially and dating is now a luxury for a lot of people. And men have bills to pay too.

And a LOT of women are professional daters. I call these women this who go on just first dates with no intention of seeing the guy a second time. All he did was pay for her entertainment .

Everything stays on a level playing field.
Men offer to pay the check so they don't look cheap.
A "dutch meet & greet" is fine with most of the women. After all, a cup of coffee doesn't buy them the right to sleep over.
After the coffee meeting, if you want to see each other again, invite that person to your home and prepare a meal(at your cost) This favour will be returned and exchanged without someone feeling like they have given or paid more.
Problem solved..
Take a bottle of wine when invited. Thus will certainly be a welcomed unit. And this too will be repeated...IF you meet the right person.

I agree that some women are 'professional daters' and has caused probs for the rest of us with the dating world.

Again it depends on the people, but if one feels there is a possibility of this happening then yes I would definitely say go dutch but I would voice that upfront so you don't get out to the meeting and they are expecting you to pay.

You can expect, but doesn't mean all think this way. Just voice your thoughts upfront so everyone is on the same page.
