i know at first sight ...you might either see someone as very attractive  ..or classified as "not your type"  .........most go by what their eyes see.....as to whether or not they would try to strike up a conversation ..or ask for a phone # ....
but have you ever found yourself having feelings for someone that is not your ideal(the outside package ) but have grown on you from what they have to offer on the inside(personality) ????

I know they can..if you are willing to look with your heart and your mind instead of your eyes. We have all seen the couples out there, we wonder what he/or she is doing with that guy/girl. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thank God I learned to look with more than just my eyes...have had some wonderful times that I would have missed out on...

yeah i know......i could have missed out on some good times ...with either men that i would have thought "weren't my type" and with men who thought i wouldnt be their type at first sight ........
i think to many people judge a book by its cover ....i know its human nature to "look" with our eyes ...im guilty of that too ...but some people wont give someone the time of day if they are NOT attractive enough ..........

I was married for the last 22 years, so this dating thing is all new to me...lol But I have met some pretty nice guys on here, a couple of them really good looking. But the one that has sparked my interest and really makes me feel comfortable and wonderful all the time is just an average looking guy. He treats me great, makes me laugh, listens when I talk..all the important stuff. That makes him sexy as hell in my book..

I agree that makes someone very sexy. It doen't matter what they look like, I want whats on the inside. He is very good looking, but even if he wasn't, I would still be with him.

Yes!! I have been with really hot guys who turned ugly because of what was on the inside and I have been with so so looking guys who to me turned really sexy because of who they were. I don't feel looks matter that much. Looks change over time. I want to be with someone I can enjoy a conversation with. And have passion with them.

yes thats so true ......funny how that works ...the best looking guy that i was with (to my eyes at least) was the one who treated me the worst ....thats when i really learned looks are not what they are cracked up to be ......

LOL my grandma always used to say, "God don't like ugly." She wasn't talking about appearance.
I guess the turning point is this: whether it's someone that is just not the type you're *normally* attracted to, or someone that you find actively distasteful in the looks department.
If it's A, then hell yeah, it happens, and can be wonderful. I'm sure the old-timers here are sick to death of seeing me tell this story, but I don't even remember the first time I met my ex. The next time I wasn't exactly bowled over either. But the more we talked, the more he grew on me, and the more *physically* attractive I found him as well. We didn't work out in the long run, obviously, but we were together quite a while, had an EXTREMELY handsome son :: grin ::, and I still think he's pretty darned cute and hope that he finds someone who makes him happy. I learned a lot from that relationship.
If it's B, though, I would personally say, take it long and slow and see how you feel on down the road. In any relationship, the problems normally don't start popping up until later. While things are rosy it may be perfectly worth it to you to be with someone you don't enjoy looking at, but I can tell you from recent experience, if you're with someone you don't find attractive and the relationship's ugly spots start to come out ... wow. You might as well be sleeping with Quasimodo. What was just "not my physical type" at the beginning becomes downright gagworthy.
My grandma also used to have a saying about people so ugly, they'd make a train back up and take a dirt road.

That is so awesome that you 2 have met some potential hook ups! I haven't yet. But I did get to be friends with a chiropracter here in town. When I first met him, he looked like "Mr Potatoe Head" to me. I would never have told him that! But he really grew on me. I thought he was adorable. The problem was that I have too many kids for his liking. But I do believe love can blossom over time.
