Yesh, the first guy I gave it to, I ended up not liking and then he would not stop calling me, it was driving me crazy, I almost was gonna get my number changed. I rarely give my number out because I have 2 children and I do not like to involve them in my dating life.

I did this past weekend, the man I met for our first date was a fake and likes to use and lie to women, I trusted him enough to meet him, but he knew enough not to screw with me, I am always prepared  :shooting Now I hope I won't be sorry for giving my cell#, work# and home#, Yikes.

I had to have my home number changed because I stupidly gave someone my number once. Never again. If I ever see anyone on one of these sites I want to meet, I'm going to walmart and picking up one of those cheapy phones where you buy the card for minutes and using that for talking to someone from online.

LOL....everyone is different. I just talked to a very close friend someone who I have loved for a long time as a friend for the first time yesterday. We have been chatting online for 9mos. It was perfect timing for us.....I doubt that most people would wait that long but as I said, it would be different for each person. Best of luck to you!

I have given out my phone number only 2 times. The first time was after lengthy emailing. He is a wonderful man. There have been no problems. We email and phone quite regularly. The 2nd time..the guy was goofy. Thank goodness he didn't abuse the privelege of my phone number. Then and there I decided..no more personal information given out (phone number or emails). When someone right away (especially on the initial email) gives me their personal email or phone number..I politely decline and say I would rather use DH to converse..much more safe..especially since I am seeing a pattern where most emailing subsides after a few weeks. But I do like the idea of a throw away phone!
Another point..I have decided..if they don't post to forums (so I can get a feel of who they are) it will be awhile before I give out personal information. JMO

most ladies will ask for your #
only had 2 get a lil wierd
like we were together or something
got to be honest and ask the odd ones not to call anymore.
havnt had to chanmge my number or anything yet
and have made some friends along the way
most people are good people from my experience

Yep, I also had an issue with giving out my phone #. I usally like to chat some, get feed back of what kind of person they are. Meet local some where and if interested give my # at that time. I had one trucker that keeped in sisting I give him my phone #. He happen to come into town that same week and I tried to set up a meet. He turn me down because I would not give him my #. I tried to explain that people in general abused that right, but he could not understand. It turned out he was a jerk.
