So you meet someone and you begin to correspond...You might do this in a variety of ways ,, you might email ,chat live ,
or text...You might do this regular for several days or even longer then for reasons unknown the other person stops having contact...This of course leads to feelings of disappointment and anger at being treated in such a shallow way..So my question is this,,, is it expecting too much in wanting the other person to at least say goodbye and tie up loose ends rather than just leave you dangling mid air???Is it expecting too much for a bit of common courtesty??? Personally I think folks need to show more respect for others and no I dont think its expecting too much to say goodbye...

In a way..yes it would be nice to at least have a goodbye..but on the other hand..and with my thinkin..I just figure its their loss..and yes..I may feel hurt and anger for a little bit..but then your relize..that its the way some people are out there sadly..and there is nothing we can do about it..but wish them luck..and move on..

Disappointment is natural, but realistically, they didn't owe you anything right? You hadn't even met in person, so you didn't know each other in any meaningful way. Internet conversations are given a lot more weight than they deserve I find. Heck, you don't even know this person was a guy!
"Goodbyes" tend to cause confrontation, and most of us prefer to avoid that. If someone stops chatting with me (and we've all been there right?), I just assume they aren't interested and get busy looking elsewhere.

Thankyou well i was the one who finally sent a goodbye text to someone who hadnt bothered in over a week and yet he says I am rude for saying bye and deleting his ph number I dont think so the boot is on the other foot leaving people dangling is a form of abuse or manipulation...And im not playing the waiting game for anyone.... That made me wonder if my expectations were too much....

too right forestrose it doesnt hurt to show manners... but still i am glad now I showed my manners by being the one to say goodbye...I dont like loose ends in my life and I dont like being dangled...And yes its the other persons loss I make a wonderful friend.....

The average person can't handle rejection nor constructive criticism so most people just slowly back away till there is no more communication to avoid conflict.

Common courtesy, I think in today's society, it's becoming a lost art. i can still remember sister Ann in 7th grade saying treat people the way that you would want them to treat you.
With that said, a lot of times when it comes to the matter of the heart, we just don't care about our fellow person. Most of the time when a man or woman figures that what ever they are doing is not going to get them the result that they want, you will be dropped like a hot potato. That goes both ways by the way, I have experience that on here a few times. Like they say in Sedona that is there truth not yours move on the right person is out there.
A goodbye would be great but chances are deep down inside it's better for them to run away than play you anyways.
