On what the girl above said:

This girl has been mayor etc, and has made the most bold changes per anyone for her terms.

She fixed the money embezzling from the guy before her, put taxes on oil companies (which no one has the guts to do) and basically has cleaned up a dirty town.

I think he made a wise choice.

On the topic of Obama Vs. Mc Cain...McCain is more adult and Obama has only had one term as Senator, and began running less than 200 days in that, and voted present over 100 times. He has absolutely no experience, and intentionally votes present on issues he doesn't want damaging his image. He's just an image appealing rebel. It doesn't bother me that he refuses to wear a pin of the united states or put his hand over his heart during the pledge...It's that he is such a childish rebel that he has to refuse in the first place that does it for me..

One should also look into his history, and look into black liberation theory, as well as the flag on the wall of one of his offices.

People may say that Obama's reverend has nothing to do with him, but it's clear after 20 years of watching that guy and saying he is a mentor, that something is wrong. Have you heard the guy speak? All he does is talk about how America should be damned, black liberation theory (that whites are the enemies of blacks, and so is the white favoring God who they must reject that God's love while he still loves whites.) and other hate filled racist issues. His wife agrees with the reverend, otherwise she wouldn't have said "For the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country".

He insulted his grandmother as well for being racist. He focuses on the problems with white people like no other.

The guy is a racist, unpatriotic, black liberation theory supporting man, he shouldn't be in office.

McCain is a patriotic, obviously not held back by modern standards (put in a woman as vice president.) honest, businessman.

It takes a business man to run the country, an experienced one at that. I don't see how this is even a political battle in WA, it shows how biased this state is.

Clinton you could make an argument on whether or not they should be in office, and you could with all the other liberals like Al Gore, Kerry, John Edwards etc. Obama though? The guy is a joke. This state needs to get off the political democrat horse...erh...donkey, lol.

Quote from lifetimeskier:
McCain just picked the lady gov from AK to be his running mate...Wow...I think he could have done alot better...

Well that was a very good post...I have been for McCain...I feel that Obama is just leading a cult of followers...They seem to just jump in and follow....The desire for change in America Has led these people to follow blindly...
I will vote for Mcaine...I want to hear more from his running mate...
Another feeling I have is that having read all the books in the Left Behind series...
Obama reminds me of the guy it was based on...not a good thing...

As I said before, both candidates are as worthless as air brakes on a turtle. I was however gaining some support for Obama, up until his dumb a** coment about putting lipstick on a pig and then saying it was not aimed at Palin. Yes right Obama how fricken stupid do you think American's are?

This maybe is what we need ?

Hi Eddie:

Fishing is good here at Wildman and I rarely have time for politics, but
many of our friends are asking us "Who is Sarah Palin?" Of course, as
Alaskans, Kathy and I are extremely proud of her. We just want to let
You know that Sarah "Barracuda" Palin is a straight shooting, hard
charging, get it done gal. She knows when to listen, how to analyze the
facts and how to make a decision, then implement the plan. She doesn't
do a poll before jumping in with both feet like too many of the
Washington types.
She has little legislative experience because she has always held the
EXECUTIVE position; in private life, as mayor of Anchorage's largest
bedroom community and more recently as Governor of our State. She is a
smart, attractive home grown Alaska girl with excellent moral and family
values. She can see what needs to be done and does not hesitate to get
it done.

One of our State's major problems is that it's Capital is in Juneau, 500
miles from the nearest road and 800 air miles from the population base
which is Anchorage, Wasilla and Fairbanks. Our legislature and most of
the State government is in Juneau and they ALL behave like a bunch of
freshmen in a college town. It has been this way since Statehood in
1959. When Sarah moved to Juneau, so did accountability and
responsibility.
When the oil revenue started flowing and a barrel of North Slope Crude
hit $23.00, these people began spending money like drunken sailors. You
can only imagine what was happenings when oil hit $100.00 a barrel;
about the
Time Sarah took command. My wife Kathy has first-hand experience with
this
fiasco, as her father and also her ex-husband were Alaska Legislators
who served in Juneau as Senators, Senate President, or members of the
State
House for a combined period spanning nearly three decades.

About the time Sarah took the HELM as Governor of Alaska, about half of
The State legislature was in the pocket of big oil companies or
contractors
doing big projects for Native Corporations around Alaska, all funded by
State oil revenue. Alaska government was nothing but a good old boys
Club riding the perpetual wave of prosperity. This filtered down from
the
legislature, through the Department of Natural Resources, Department of
Labor and even spilled into the Public Safety who are supposed to
"preserve and protect".

When Sarah walked into the Governor's Mansion, she promptly dismissed
The State Trooper detachment assigned to the Governor and had her and
her
husband's gun case brought in from Wasilla. Then, she got rid of the
former
Governor's STATE Jet and told legislators that there were no more free
rides, they would have to fly Alaska Airlines, just like her and her
family if they wanted to travel. Next came the nut cutting (the
Barracuda
part) the heads that rolled were too numerous to name, but when Sarah
finished cleaning house, a number of our legislators ended up in jail on
corruption charges, or tendered their resignations along with numerous
department heads and those who have been riding the gravy train for way
too long, AND THEN SHE HAD LUNCH. By the end of the day, Sarah Palin
had
saved the people of Alaska millions and has not yet slowed down.

She has truly brought CHANGE to Juneau. I personally know several
Persons in the private sector in Alaska, that hold her in high esteem.
She surrounds herself with smart people, many from my hometown of
Anchorage,
she listens to them but makes her own decisions. Sarah Palin is a no
B.S. politician. It is refreshing that there is such a thing anymore.
You want to talk about CHANGE? You should see a before and after
picture of the State government in Alaska. That's CHANGE! Sarah will
bring a number
Of things to the election. I am sure she will appeal to many voters who
may
otherwise could have gone the other direction on election day. The
conservative block will not be for Barack. We have their vote. We need
what Sarah will bring, first to the election and second, what she will
bring to Washington D.C. McCain has been advised well, Let's just hope
the American people can get the straight scoop on her in the weeks
ahead.
This is just the opinion of one Alaska Bush Pilot and Guide, who pays
attention to national politics, watches the news and is deathly afraid
of the direction our nation is headed. I guarantee that if Sarah gets a
chance to dig her spurs into the flanks of the liberal Washington types,
they will know that she is in the saddle.

and what did bush do wrong exactly?

there have been less deaths in militray actions in his term than clinton.

look it up, just because it is a war doesnt make iraq a disaster.

you cant put a timeline on reconstructing a nation like iraq, refer to the amount of time it took to reform america after the revolutionary war. refer also to the fact that why we are disliked is we are pulling out, and leaving britain to deal with it, and the prince that went there is being called a hero. bush was one of our only chances of keeping our balls after clinton gave money to north korea when they made terrorist demands, and he pulled it off, though people dont see it yet.

he altered our plans for home protection, showed we wont tolerate terrorism...if we are safe post 9 11 it is only his doing...

we saved iraq, if they have womens rights (they now do for the first time ever) that is us. if they dont have over 300k people killed by an evil dictator, thats us. and with 4k deaths? its good.

bush has done what few presidents would do.

the economy has not a lickety split to do with bush, he has to work with or against your current politicians, who all have joined the bash the bush wagon.

bush aint great, but he aint bad, or any worse than clinton or a normal president, this hating our own nation and its president thing is just stupid. i like my country, i like our presidents, clinton, bush etc. if we show everyone we hate our people and are neurotic, what then?

if you have grounds outside of those typical areas, i would like to hear them...because the bush panic attacks are getting way too out of hand, just like the clinton attacks.

and to direct the 9 11 thing, i do know the whole story behind that so lets not go over that.

so shoot for it, i am serious on wanting to hear it.

also...see mccains website, he is way better than bush regardless, there are good plans on that site...see obamas page...its a lot of nothing.

the guy is what he shows, no plan, no action, just words, just like he himself said, words, just words.

The trouble with big elections in this country is most people don't vote, and an even bigger problem is a majority of those that vote don't really know much about the candidates.

I think that speaks to the media, candidates, and the people. The media puts a spin on the candidates, helping those they want to win, while the candidates do very little to truly let you know their stances on many key issues. While we all know a lot of their promises will never come to pass (mostly bc they share power with congress), they should at least explain the plans for accomplishing these "Goals for a better America" we hear about all the time.

In the end, over the past 20 years, the candidates for president (and governor in this state) are going downhill. I agree that a president should have served in the military; however, just what we consider military service today is questionable.

I will say I will vote for McCain. While Obama seems to be a great guy, and I would love to have the chance to talk with him, his politics are much too liberal for me. Also, he has really begun switching his stance. While some of his switches make sense, it just makes me wonder would he go back to his out of touch ideas if he were elected.

Sorry to say my brother is a physicist, post grad specializing in particle physics, plasmas, etc more specifically? He knows all about nuclear reactions and energy, and more about a type called fusion vs fission (if we pull off fusion, there's no waste. Guess which party is in the way? I'll give you a BIG hint...It aint republican my friend) You are indefinitely wrong on the energy solution.

The only practical solution to solve the environmental issue while solving cost issues and profitability together is nuclear energy, you need to do your research because it's inherent you do not know what you are talking about.

The problem with our country is people that make assumptions based on political allegiances like you.

Here's the facts:

The amount of nuclear waste that would be produced to provide you with a lifetime's worth of energy would be ONE pop can of nuclear waste. The CORE of earth is nuclear waste, we have ways of taking care of the problem and getting rid of the waste. If you'd prefer we could just dump out landfills of materials used to make solar panels (you clearly don't know how much waste and how little energy it would produce), or ruin the economy with the cost of wind power (do you have any IDEA how much iron, concrete, etc is required to make enough windmills to make even a DENT up to 10% in energy issues???), or maybe burn more coal, perhaps more dams? Shoot, we already figured out that would generate not nearly enough energy. There is no alternate solution, nuclear is the solution. In comparison to a pop can of waste? You'd get a hell of a lot more otherwise.

The energy solution from McCain is entirely practical, and your democrats theories on government run energy and health care are a load of horse crap. It would NEVER work and would ruin our economy. The profit margins are so ridiculously low (they would be negative in fact) that's why we would need a government program to PAY for the NON-PROFITABILITY. Translation? DEBT. Currently? Profit.

Let's see...Here is what will likely happen, all of these are topics Obama touched on but never gave a schedule on so let's assume he pulls it off in his term:

Insurance Heatlh care: Govt run by 2010: A multi billion dollar industry tanks, we go a little communist/socialist/ proven fact the economy takes a hit. Translation? DEBT. Currently? PROFIT.
Energy: Govt run by 2012: We take another hit, as everyone pays for a non-efficient solution AND an entire section of economy is thrown to trash and regulated.

2020??? Government ran communism. End of story. Your methods don't pencil out, it's all regulated spending, no earning, and no tangible profit.

Word to the wise?

I liked Clinton because he was practical and I'm not biased on political allegiance.

Bush was decent for being strong.

Mc Cain is going to solve the energy problem, and help the economy.

So don't come on here with the flip flop things...Everyone will answer questions differently, even your precious Obama...Even depending on how it's asked. More importantly?

Do you remember what you said to the letter in over 100 speeches?

Have you ever changed your mind?

Do you know what exactly you changed you mind on in over 50 things?

Do you want for your liberal who talks about "change" to never change his mind?

If republicans change their mind, people like you insult them.

If they don't, you call them thick headed and insult them.

There's no win. You're the problem. Get off the liberal horse.

Liberals DO lie to get into office just as much as republicans, and liberals all know it, they even tell me it's just to "be the greater of two evils" shows what they think of our great country...

The lying doesn't bug me, but don't hold a double standard for your party...

Thank you, I do know what I'm talking about. So do not insult me with your petty articles.

By the way?

Obama HAS voted present on over 100 plus sections that he didn't want to vote on. You cannot change that fact. That's not a lie. It's truth that Edwards himself hammered Obama on, and Obama had no answer.

The changes Obama made?

Were all cowardly. He's a lawyer trying to build up his image, and he knows what is popular at the moment.

He avoided every topic that could possibly hurt his image.

I like the 2nd ammendment, something Obama, and his backers (Soros being a major player), seem to think we cannot be trusted with. Obama's voting record shows he does not believe the american public should have the right to be able to protect themselves.
Sorry I can not believe anyone would vote for Obama, yes, he believes in change, but not the changes that would do this country any good.
But what do I know, is it really so bad that he was raised in his formative years, in one of the most radical muslem sects?

Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed. Obama turned down lucrative job o?ers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law ?rm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
