repochick Memphis, TN age: 29	A close friend of mine was telling me about a girl he met and what took place. It still amazes me how some can reduce themselves to being this desperate. My friend travels for work, and on occasion might hook up with a girl while out of town. He was a little over 4 hours from his hometown and ended up hoooking up with the one of the girls that worked at the hotel. Since he has been back home she has called him, emailed him, and one weekend she even showed up in his hometown and got a room, though he wouldnt go meet her that time. He was clear with her that this was just fun and that he didnt want anything serious and yet she would follow him to where he lives. Why are some that desperate??

lovinglife437 Meadville, PA age: 44	People in general seem to be very lonely... and many do some variation of this "chase" or cry for attention, seeking something to make them happy instead of realizing they have to make themselves happy first. Call it needy, desperate, childish, I've heard it labeled many things here. To me, this is the same as one who writes and writes and writes even though you've told them you have no interest; or the seemingly daily fight-picking threads which is just another variation of getting attention; or posting continuous threads that don't really say anything, it's like "look at me! look at me!"... (and no I'm not referring to you, you write good threads; I'm referring to some of the more ridiculous ones I've seen in the past). I see these things and I just think "if you only knew you didn't have to do this...." Some need to see their own value first before others can see it too. That's my point I guess.
