But yes I have met people that looked better once I got to know them, and I have met people who looked uglier after I got to know them, so I do agree with what you are saying as well.

 I think character! I dated a beautiful girl for about a year and the longer we datedthe less i was attracted to her b/c she had a sour heart, not really her fault she had been through alot which most people have but alot of her situation was not in her control. Now over 2 years later I see pictures of her and she is so beautiful I just hope she has her life straightened out now.
Okay back to character.A person with a good character will be real to themselves and everyone else, care about themselves(so they will take care of themselves) thus being able to care about other people. I could go on and on about character but....
I have always been attracted to the snobby pretty girls, which has really prolly cost me to miss out on dating some really awesome people because I looked past them.
