The true impact of 911 cannot fully be comprehended yet....but as scndl said, lets just pay respects to this "somber anniversary".....(or should we say Memorial?)

Can you remember what you were doing on 9/11/01? That was the craziest day of my life...the Army installation I was on at the time was completely locked down within an hour of the attacks. Tried to call home, all the landlines were tied up with calls...had to wait awhile to make a call. And I remember how surreal it all seemed, watching the many replays of the airplanes hit the WTC.

We must never forget what happened that day. We have always known that we would stand up for our country. I bless each and every person who is fighting for the USA. I was thankful that my son came back from Iraq in one piece, but feel sorrow for those who have not and I also bless the families that have lost someone due to 9/11, whether from that day or the days and years that have followed. They can not take our country from us. We will fight back.

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
Till ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
Then from each black, accursèd mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound the carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
And made forlorn, the households born
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
And in despair I bowed my head
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”
