I've been single now for quite a few years and there is a pehenonmenon that has always bothered me. You get to know people. You put yourself out there. A person might be kinda talking to two or three others and then you ask one of them out (or they might ask YOU out....whatever).
At what time do those other two or three people cease to become eligible to date?
I mean.....I take someone out.....should I tell the others?
If I date this first girl several times (with no talk of exclusivity) am I still obligated to cut it off with the others?
What are my obligations in terms of telling everyone who I'm seeing?

JMHO, arkansasman, but I think we should go about making as many friends as we can. If some day one captures your heart, only then should you think about telling the others the good news. In the dating world, you have to figure that for the majority of us there are going to be a whole lot of frogs to kiss before we find the one for us.
You are young and have time on your side. Hang in there and keep fishing. There are lots of fish in the pond.

I agree with ARkielady. Until you do make a commitment to one person it is no ones business who you are seeing or what you are doing in your free time.

I agree, however, if one of the ladies should ask if your seeing other people, be honest. Tell them yes, I know if I am dating someone that is dating other girls also, I am not going to invest my heart 100% for the fear of him deciding he likes girl number 2 better, But, if he is honest with me then I can guard my heart enough to still be myself.

The girls you are seeing probably wouldn't agree.

ark... going out is just that... go out have fun and respect yourself first, and the respect for the women you meet will follow. Be open about seeing more than one, and it should never bite you anywhere... even if you may like to get bit! OOPS...
If just being friendly is more your style... than be friendly with everyone.
It is interesting how many grown folks have issues with jealousy regardless of which sex their partner is friends with. Know yourself and be true, if you find the right person all things will be right! Until then just talk to whoever you want to.
So hell no... the day I couldn't speak to the opposite sex is the day the God HERSELF calls me to the pearly gates.
