Way to go Gary. You tell him. By now, he should have gotton the hint that he's not welcome here until he changes his attitude a bitAre we supposed to be impressed? I failed to see the humor somewhere along that thread. Gary, if I am able to get there on the 11th and your not there, I will be crushed, forever. OMG, nothing will ever be the same for me again, my life will be worthless and I'll have no reason to go on. Nice to talk to you tonight BB. If I were you I would Cheer up and be happy. you sounded so depressed tonight, I can't do depressed, that's why I have to come and see you. Chi That should cheer you up. Chi

Hi to all -
Thanks for your comments Chi - we'll still have to get together. I'll call you tomorrow, and we can meet at Cat Tales during the week.
Thanks also to BusyBee for the welcome.

Just a thought, but anyone interested in trying to combine a Spokane area DH meet with some kind of community service? Not even sure how to go about it. Anyone know of non-profit organization that could use free labor for a few hours, or assistance with an event?
The only thing I found on line was: (The Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Foundation of Washington is looking for volunteers to help with their 26 th Annual Fallen Leaf Run on Sunday, October 5th, 2008 at Mirabeau Point Park in ...) And of course I have to work that weeek-end.
Just an idea, maybe just meet and spend an hour or so picking up litter.

Any suggestions?

Bytar, great idea something I have suggested to the group here in Hermiston. I am thinking about widows with no experience with tools, more likely no business handling power tools. There is a group of rebuilding that does repairs to help the needy with their home repair needs they are hard to find except to receive donations online.
And the waitng list is usually years long.  They aren't necessarily in need of a new home like "extreme home makeover", but could usesome of the tear down parts removed, just repairs from skillful knowledgable people in specific talents, to repair before the damage cause condemnation. The less skillful could solicit donantions in the communities for the repairs replacement costs or material to use to repair replace etc.  The bible tells us not to forget our widows needs, to take care of them as a society all seem to be for the kids these days. Don't get me won't but the kids have plenty of organizations year round now.  Most have sacrificed for decades.. and need our help now.
For example winterizing, lawn mowers, ouboards motors, irrigation, etc. Things they don't know they even need to, let alone know how to do any of it. Some never even handled the finances before and need a fast learning curve, so professionals you are needed too. It's called Pro Bono, handle it at your work space and donate that time to them, build their self esteem in their abilities to accomplish these learning tasks for their future independence.

Gents and Ladies how about helping them selling their stuff on ebay no cost to them.Or computer assistance. etc. learning things you already know, and they need distractions to learn new things and help them find themselves again. Or just get them out once in a while, driving the elderly.  Just a needy thought to help you all give back to those we least think of.  Not all have family near them, that does make them more needier at times then those with family or kids near by. Look around or ask round. Or post of craigs list for anyone who knows someone to suggest them so you can offer help to them. May be a child who lives far away, and can't get therse to do it themselves. Great advertising for your group and the charitble time and skills your contribute to your communites.

I've got an idea Bytar. Our streets could use a little grooming too. Even an hour of all of us picking up litter would make a big difference. Someone can stand out and hold a huge sign saying, HELP KEEP SPOKANE CLEAN Is that tacky? Just an idea. When they drive by, they will see all of us out there picking up after them, kind of like picking up after your husband. I will supply the bags, up to about 50.Chi

Hi Chi, and everyone - Sorry we didn't connect by phone yesterday Chi. I was serving breakfast at the Sons of Norway, and wanted you and your fella to come on by.
As to picking up around a park, great idea, and would love to be included, but have friends coming up from Boise for the week-end Fri - Sun. Bummer. Next time?
Thanks
Witzig

See, here's how ya do it, get a reacher, like I have and then we don't have to bend over.If we wear panties, then it keeps them wondering,If we don't wear panties they might think we are BS, or PH in desperation for work, but , if we wear support hose , they think we look great and maybe they'll stop to help, doubtful, but one never knows. Where are you hiding bytar? You got 2 of us, can you handle us, doubtful but we'll try and go easy on ya. You say near a Park, Bytar? I can think of a few trashy parts of town but we'll decide later I guess. Who's going to make the sign> I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, so that leaves one of you or anyone else who wishes to join in. We need to decide on a meeting place and a time. I don't do mornings. Keep me posted on what we are going to do, Chi
