i wait in my car, she comes, i figure her out. ask her if she has baggage(kids).
if she has and has been married twice or more..
i make a few steps, if i have packed far i take off at a supersonic speed. and leave the vicinity with immediate effect.

Whoa, stop, MCDonalds just is not going to work at all... Start by treating her like a lady, take her somewhere a cut above... OR something simple like a nice coffee house...
Kittisse... You sound like a freaking broken record with your baggage/kids bullshit, what's the matter your johnson not working, shooting blanks and can't have any??? Quit your whining you wimp and man up...

I agree; I wouldn't want to meet at a McDonald's.. a coffee house would do just fine, and it seems more appropriate
But take the first meeting one step at a time; there's no reason to work yourself up about someone you haven't even met yet. Just see how it goes..

Just for sake of argument we will say ok it is McDonalds If you mean wait in the car, till she shows up... Yes I probably would till I saw her and then probably walk with her into the restaurant (next door) "lol" we would talk and order, and see how we seemed to get along. I would likely see how things seemed to be clicking by the time the meal was over and a bit more conversation maybe, and decide whether I wanted to ask her if she wanted to go do something afterward. Don't know if that is what you were asking but she would be treated well in any case.

Alright, the most romantic DH meeting I've had, we were meeting half way, and he tells me to meet him in the Home Depot parking lot. It was romance at its finest. At least he met me under the shade.

Never use "McDonalds" and "treating her like a lady" in the same sentence. Take her for a nice lunch/dinner at a real resutrant. Doesn't have to be real expensive, just nice. Get the doors for her. Just be your self and have a good conversation.

I'm sorry McDonald's?? What the hell?? If I was that short on cash or that cheap I would take the $6-$10 it would take to eat there go to the grocery store buy some spaghetti make it my self and take her to a park. As for how I treat her, I treat her with respect and honor like I should.

If I have been doing my home, I would hope that I knew enough about her to know some of things she likes or dislikes. Mcdonalds isn't exactly my kind of place. I would want to make the first impression a positive one. I would be clean shaved, clothes pressed, shoes shined, have a breath mint, put on some colonge and dressed properly. If she were coming to see me in Baltimore it would be better because I know a few nice cafes. It would also depend on the time of day and the weather conditions and I would work out the details before meeting with her. If I were going to meet near her home I would go on the net and fine a nice cafe in that area to meet her that is quite. I would not sit in my pick-up but ask her to meet at the entrance or on the corner or parking lot. I would walk up to her and politely say hello(Looking it to her eyes) my name is johnny I've been looking forward to meeting you as I put out my right hand to shake hers and when she shook my hand I would reach over slowly with my left and take her by the hand and say something nice like you look wonderful we are going to have a nice evening and I would holder hand and walker her to the cafe. But, I have to say I would be in control when we went in I would take her to a table I liked and say this looks like a nice table just because it shows confidence. Sit her first and start a pleasant confersation and just see where things go. Nuff said!
Will that work?

i can't believe most of the responses i'm reading on here, no wonder everyone's single! first i think the first meeting should be a comfortable place, that's fairly quiet, yet public, so you are able to talk, but so she feels protected. a place where she knows if she just met up with a creep she can escape, hey that's the world we're in. i think it's best if you are already there in plain sight, where if she wants to split without seeing you she has that option. she should not feel like she may be walking into an ambush. it should not be mcdonalds, unless that's where she realy wants to go. it doesn't have to be the fanciest restraunt in town, just nice, not the cheapest, loudest place you can find. from there you need to treat her respectfully and politely, and this shouldn't end even if this lasts for the next 80 years. don't dominate, don't make it all about you, show her you are interested in what she has to say, and be interested in what she is saying. don't push anything. be yourself and let her be herself. be real, don't be a gradeschooler and do a bunch of stupid things to showoff, being silly is one thing, being immature is another. let her make the final decision to go somewhere more private if that seems to be the way things are going.

There's nothing wrong with meeting at McD's, especially if you both have kids. Look how many people stay home because they don't have someone to watch the kids. Heck, let the kids play while you talk a little and get to know each other. Besides, it's important to know if the kids will get along or not.
OK, so I like McD's! I'm a preschool teacher - a lot of my friends hang out there!!!
