Im asking this question as I would be interested to know I hold a grudge agaist my sister for putting my Dad away in a mental hospital so she and her then boyfreind could get on in dads house without him in the way yes my dad had a breakdown he was medicated and sent home and as soon as he was home my sister had him commited again I was so upset I couldnt help dad as I lived to far from him I dont think I could ever forgive her

I think that maybe you need to take a second to think about what you would do in her situation. Does your sister work? Is she capable of taking care of your father in the home? Does he need a nurse in the home? These are the things you need to ask yourself before you get mad at your sister.

grudges, if someone is an a** their isnt a whole lot you can do. I have forgiven people just to be stepped on agan. you dont have to like eaveryone, but you can beat them with kindness and hospitality, without acceptance. Step back think reality

I agree. There are lots of things to consider and as you mentioned, you lived too far away to contribute to his care. Maybe having a good talk with your sister may clear some things up about the circumstances.
Holding grudges only hurts the person holding the grudge.

I heard somewhere that holding a grudge is like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die.
You said you were far away - likely not familiar with the cirucumstances - you may be right about your sister's motives or you may be mistaken.
I found that when I held grudges they were like giant turds - growing inside me - I was the one that got blocked up.

I don't hold grudges...lifes too short to worry with that kind of crap...Learn to love and let the hate roll away...and you have to find away to forgive in your heart or it will forever haunt you and it's not worth your soul... I'm sorry to hear what she done but you can't be fully happy with all that building up inside you...JMO

no he didnt need a nurse infact he didnt need anything she just didnt want him around he was in the way of her boyfreind and her in his own house
As long as he was physically and mentally capable of taking care of himself couldn't he have objected to being committed into a hospital? I'm sure that she would have had to prove in some way that he was mentally impaired in order to have him committed.

no my sister is just so selfish there are a lot of selfish things she has done in her life I wont adress them on here as they are un speakable she has no compassion for anybody the reason she got dad back in hospital is because she spilled lies to the local docter up thereI normalley dont hold grudges against anybody but I just cannot get past what she had done for her own selfish reasons

I have been holding a grudge against my sister's 2nd husband for now on 30 years. I should have killed that bastard when I had the chance, seriously. Although it does not, nor has it ever, ruled my life I don't see this grudge going away any time soon.
We here in Georgia have a saying--I wouldn't piss in his mouth if his guts were on fire.

I try not to hold grudges... I leave the door open to communication
I come from a Family that is notorious for Holding Grudges, and I have seen the pain it causes. My Dad is the Oldest of 8 and the Master Grudge Holder. I was and still am, involuntarily assigned to his "team"simply because I am his Daughter .... the rest of the Family assumes I am participating when more often then not.. I am clueless as to what is going on
