Photography is a hobby of mine. I have a variety of film camera systems, and am getting started in digital photography as well. Locally, I shoot pix of: parks, birds, squirrels, etc. While traveling I shoot: historical sites, architecture, wildlife, people, and more. I managed to shoot a nice portrait of a friend's grandma at her last birthday party...about six month before she went senile, and about 8 months before she died, so the family really appreciates having my photo to remember granny's better days by. My aunt, and cousins, liked the portrait I shot of my uncle so much that they displayed an enlarged copy of it at his funeral/reception, and used a smaller copy of it in his obituary notice in the newspaper. I sometimes enter small photo contests, and sometimes win. It's a real creative hobby, once you learn the basics, and then get beyond just snapshooting.

You might try the arts forum, too. My photos are snapshots, just memories. If I get a good pic of my garden or
the pets, I send a copy to relatives or friends. I do like to send pics to newspapers and magazines, and my
cat and garden have been in our local paper twice, as well as in a veterinary magazine.
