Ok, where to even start. It is by the guy who did 'The Exorcist'. It is classified as horror but I didn't really think that it fit that genre. I thought it was more of a mystery thriller type thing, sorry lack of good words. I think it is Ashley Judd in the movie under the character of an abused woman. At first I thought it was gonna be really boring but it soon sucked me in and got me very curious as to where they were gonna go with it. Harry Connick Jr. is in it for the ladies, but he is the abuser so his character is a prick. Anyhow, the whole thing was a new original idea, not like the same old crap that usually pours out of Hollywood. And this coupled with an very interesting idea, and good acting on everyones part made me like the movie quite a bit. By the time you figure out what is actually going on, they slap you in the face with an ending that makes you gasp. I recommend it.

I only rented BUG because Superscreename recommended it, otherwise the title alone would have turned me off. If bugs weird you out, then ignore the title, because it's not really about bugs, that's only a metaphor.
If you ever dropped too much acid with another person, then you know that there is a fine line between drug induced paranoia and insanity. This movie captures how people can feed into each other's paranoia with twisted logic. For me, this movie was a flashback to my misspent youth in the Sixties, when I batted at invisible flies, saw things crawling under my skin, and played the paranoia game alone in a room with another person. What people who have never been stoned out of their head will make of this film I'm not quite sure, but if you enjoy a bizarre story that is skillfully directed and beautifully acted, then check out BUG.
The actors are not unattractive, but BUG deserves a special award for the most scenes of totally unsexy male and female nudity in any film since Andy Warhol's Frankenstein. Unless, you're turned on by things like a scene of Ashley Judd peeing on a toilet... which has to be a "first" in any film. Here's my one line review of Bug from the old Roach Motel commercial: "They check in but they don't check out". You'll get it after you see the movie. Thanks for bugging me into seeing it Superscreename.

Once again, I appreciate your take on things phucq. I didn't think about my past bearing on my interest, but that very well may be. I am glad you enjoyed it.
