Are you looking to be alone or to wander through parties? Do you know this person well?
Alone date . . . hmmm . . . if you like scary stuff . . .
I suggest you start early at one of the haunted houses . . . that should break the ice if it's a first date . . . it's always fun to see kids having a blast and to have people jumping out at you from dark corners. Not everyone enjoys this. My son, 6, cried when I took him to the house of mirrors at the Ft. Worth Ripley's Believe or Not over Labor Day , but my daughter was a trooper. Pack a hot meal with some wine & coffee and blankets and go to a cemetary for a private picnic. Watch out for the security folks and crazy teenagers, though. Try to find a good halloween party and DRESS up . . . it will bring out the kid in you . . . no matter how old you are. End the evening with a good old-fashioned vampire kiss . . . and get home before sun up!!
Be safe.
Me? I will man the door faithfully, even though the number of kids who show up every year declines. I won't be with my kids, so I will enjoy seeing the little ones who do arrive. I may go over to my house mate's church and hang with some of the folks, as well, just to enjoy the moment. I will not be out for Devil's Night . . . tonight . . . where people light fires in Detroit as some kind of spin-off tradition.
