I love going to Gettysburg with it history and great food. Lots of places to eat at and stay at. Beutiful country side and so much too look at. Ghost tours at night and and little shops and stores through out the town.

I've been to Gettysburg and enjoyed the tour of the Civil War battlefield. I didn't know they had ghost tours.

There's a lot to do "around" Gettysburg too, if you're looking for places to stop along the way - depending on which direction you're traveling in from. There are the Penn Caves and Indian Caverns, among several others; Pottsville area has a way-cool tour of a coal mine and a ride on the oldest working anthracite-burning train; Strasburg has the train ride & train museum; Lancaster area and the Sight & Sound Theater (an awesome experience, excellent biblical shows, they use live animals on stage, etc.).

Ken there are several ghost tours and I liked the ghost stories in the basment of the Farnsworth house the best. I ghost circles Gettysburg is #1 for haunted battlefields.

I think we took a tour of the Farnsworth house while we were in Gettysburg; that name sounds familar.

Jays...... Yepper I just thought you guys coming over from Ohio might want to know there are other things to detour and see along the way. The Laurel Caverns are south of Pittsburgh, there are miles of caverns and caves there, rapelling, etc. The Penn Caves is America's only all-water cavern tour, near State College... and of course the coal mine was my favorite (Pennsylvania has the largest vein of anthracite in the world - not far from the tour is that town that's been burning underground for 40 years.) The Johnstown area is BEAUTIFUL; as well as the Lancaster area. If you're into nifty architecture, in the Laurel area is also Falling Water, the house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Kaufmann's, now a conservatory; nearby is another one of his designs, Kentucky Knob.
