By living the Golden Rule..."do unto others..."

You really can't go wrong with that, and from there everything else falls into place quite nicely, for the most part. JMO.

I'm with ya Peaches & Fire. Ok, so I don't know which part of the country you guys are in (too lazy to check profiles at the moment) but did you know there is this singles group that does volunteer work together. I googled it and found something - can't remember the name - but it was totally the coolest idea.

Unfortunately not something like that in my area (Cary, NC)...

Personally, I'm contacting my brothers unit and I'm going to just plunge myself back into doing what I do best..Work with families of Military who are deployed. I am sick and tired of being bored lol..The dating and stuff will fall into place or it's not meant to be.

Definitely Guardian. Golden Rule rocks!! But what does it mean in practice, to you? I mean, what did you do today to make someone else's life just that much happier?

AWESOME Peaches!! It is all about where we choose to put our energy, right? That is great that you have a direction to go in.

Of course, it doesn't have to be one or the other, right? I mean you can work with your families but also date some. And I am personally of the mind that the more people who know you are looking and know (generally, at least) what you are looking for, the better your chances.

Thanks! I thought you'd never ask

Let's see - I think about it all the time but feel like I never make big enough steps toward it. I recycled today instead of throwing stuff out. That's a start, right? I took my kids out to a street festival and they had lots of fun. That's a good thing. I guess I'm taking baby steps towards making a real difference. I've been in defensive mode for 10 years now so it is a switch for me to get back to who I really am which is an open and giving person.

Hope that didn't make you yawn too extensively chopper, hunny...

Good question....I've been at home all day, napping here & there because I worked last night. Now, when I'm on the job, anything I do is a help to the people I come in contact with, because I work in a service profession (security & investigations). I do what I do for a living because I feel that the job is an extension of who I am as a person overall. I'm more inclined to help someone when I can, rather than just sit back and not take action.
