Jesus spoke these words in a prophecy relating to the end times. We need not spend time here trying to relate to you just how distressed and perplexed the global, national and local goverments are. The news media has been doing that quite well since the terrorist attack on September 11th. Yet it is of interest to make note of an Old Testament prophecy written over 2,500 years ago that states:
PROCLAIM YE THIS AMONG THE NATIONS, PREPARE WAR, WAKE UP THE MIGHTY MEN, LET ALL THE MEN OF WAR DRAW NEAR, LET THEM COME UP, BEAT YOUR PLOWSHARES INTO SWORDS AND YOUR PRUNINGHOOKS INTO SPEARS: LET THE WEAK SAY, I AM STRONG." JOEL 3:9,10
Yes, the weak are saying they are strong. What an appropriate description of these seemingly insignificant terrorist groups and the small countries that seem to support them. They dare to challenge the superpower nation of earth and even western society itself. The hearts of men and woman are fearful for many different resons. Among them is the realization that financial and psychological devastation is far more sweeping than the localized physical destruction.
"AND UPON THE EARTH DISTRESS OF NATIONS, WITH PERPLEXITY; THE SEA AND THE WAVES ROARING; MEN'S HEARTS FAILING THEM FOR FEAR, AND FOR LOOKING AFTER THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE COMING ON THE EARTH; FOR THE POWERS OF HEAVEN SHALL BE SHAKEN.' LUKE 21:25,26

I think it's better to focus on the people around you and the things in life that you can change for the better. Prophecy will take care of itself. People have been waiting for the world to end for a long time. It's better to worry about living and enjoying the time you have while you have it.

Wow... What's with all the gloom and doom?
Dare to challenge a superpower? What the Hell did you think Jesus was all about?
Give your head a shake!
Screw your precious economy. If there are any children starving in the World, society is failing.

Well, shucks, Indoubtalishis. Thanks.
I don't mean to be rude towards Grace777, but the well being of those who can't make choices should take precedence over those who can.
The o/p wishes to address those who aren't strong. As if the average family in countries held at bay by terrorists enjoy their suffering.
If you're capitalised on, chances are you will resent the ones doing the capitalising. Pretty easy scenario to prophesize.
Can we blame the common person in these places for not being educated?

"your gonna take a walk in the rain and your gonna get wet...
your gonna eat and be hungry again.."
Sparks song - I Predict
has there ever been a time that nations were not in distress?
there are dozens of signs to look for besides this one though.
the 2 witnesses will be hard to miss
IMO
as a child in America I ate dirt on several occasions. went hungry too. ate from trash and dog food.
I would not change those experiences though it makes us individuals.
everything does happen for a reason.
without needy or destitute people we would not be able to see compasionate or the self centered types.
everything serves a purpose.
if God wanted or evolution was true we would all be the same.
things are the way they are to prove where your heart is.
IMO
