my fellow oregonians i would like to tell, invite and encourage you to watch a program on "O.P.B.(oregon public broadcasting) channel tonight at 8:30 p.m., "CELILO FALLS" revealed. it's the newest "OREGON FIELD GUIDE" program, about where my people came from and why were in the circumstances in which we live today. "CELILO FALLS" once was the oldest continuously inhabited community on the "NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT", till it was "BLOWN-UP" and covered with water by the army corp of engineers in 1957.

yes i did watch it and was very impressed by the lengths the army corp of engineers went to, to prove they didn't "BLOW-UP" the falls. the technology they used to show the falls was "MARVELOUS" simply "MARVELOUS"!!!!!!! our relationship with b.p.a. and the a.c.e. is getting better since we signed an agreement to qiut wasting time in "LITIGATION". we have a long ways to go, such as the declining "LAMPREY" runs and the new research to understand them. free speech t.v. and link they have some cool native shows also.

it was "MANIFEST DESTINY" plain and simple, you thought we caught salmon at "CELILOFALLS"!!!!!!! can you imagine the "FISHWHEELS" and the amount they caught in one day and the number of cannery's that once existed. there are still big-salmon though, at "ROCK CREEK" longhouse i seen at least a 75 POUNDER. knowing that "CELILO FALLS" is still there is just like the 10,000,00 acres we ceded to the feds, see but don't "TOUCH"!!!

In the diary of Lewis and Clark they spoke of the Columbia and the salmon runs. They wrote it as appearing like a cobble stone street. The river was so full of the salmon.

The elders did what they thought was best for the tribe.. unknown at the time..that the Feds would screw all natives.. now its too late..

the stipulations we got in our treaty of 1855 are unique and very forward looking, such as our "USUAL and ACCUSTOMED" fishing sites like "CELILO". they're called "IN-LUE" sites nowadays, even though we have to come from warm springs to fish "HOOK and LINE" on the or. and wa. sides. we bought a class-c rv to be able to camp, but you won't get me out in a boat to run the "NETS" though, if i can't see the bottom then it's "TOO DEEP"!!!
