HELLO EVERY1,
I think you have to be happy w/ yourself before you can be content in a relationship.

I agree, but being happy with yourself doesn't make you a happy person. I am comfortable with who I am, I love God and have joy and peace in my soul but sometimes I am still unhappy and lonely at times.

Holidays are especially tough if you have family and get together with them while they are all either married or engaged or otherwise have a significant other and you seem to realize that another year has gone by and again your sitting there all alone wheen the time comes to gather things up and head for home. I'm happy, just not content with my situation of being without a significant other. I get lonely but try not to dwell on it to much till the holiday season, it's not that I intend to keep thinking about it but, somehow the thought creeps into my mind constantly. So in answer to the question does being single=lonely, absolutely not. I have plenty of friends to do thngs with just the holidays are a bummer.

Yea, I feel you can still be lonely. I find myself lonely off and on alot. Especialy after being together with my ex for four years. Now being single seems awful, as before her it wasn't a big deal. Knowing what it felt like to really love someone and to feel loved. so yea

I don't necessarily agree.
I've been lonely since I've been single. But I guess I'm fine with my own company. I've learned how to keep myself occupied if I'm here by myself with books, movies, nap taking, what have you.
Would it be nice to have someone curled up on the couch with me? Hell yeah. Or snuggled up next to me while taking a nap on a cold winter day.
But if she's not around, I'm not going to be fretting, "Oh lonesome me."

I hate to say but even those in a relationship are lonely, so which is better being single and lonely or being in a relationship and lonely?
Food for thought?
So many in relationships care not to discuss important issues with their partners, I believe that if something is important to you than it does matter. Being in an unhealthy relationship for whatever reason isnt good for either person, especially if only one person is working on making things better.
JMO and experience from age and having others talk to me about their relationships.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING and eat more chicken save the TURKEYS hehehee

I would much rather have someone to be with, (not 24/7 mind u as we all still need our "space") but I dont let myself get lonely. If friends and family are busy then I read a book or watch a DVD...play mafia wars on my space (hahaha) Sometimes your own company can be the best company.

I agree with yisdatinghard. I'd much rather be single and lonely than be lonely in a relationship. Been there, done that, it sucked!!

1 is the loniest number but 2 can be as bad as 1 its the loniest # since the# 1......
What I'm saying is You have to be happy, content, secure wherever you are in life. You can't carry that baggage into a relationship, being single is great, being in a relationship can be great.Love will find you again it always does...
Like the man said "Don't worry Be happy"
