Honey, I hate to say it but they are on every site, I have gotten to where I can spot the men at their first message, poor grammer, don't sound like we do, don't know how to us commas or any other punctuation in sentences, immediately in love with you, and the dead give away is they never capitalize the pronoun I in a sentence unless it is at the begining of a sentence. I have done alot of research on them and now I write back "hey bro no be dey mugu" that means I am one of them and not the sucker. They always respond back and reveal they are a scammer and want to know if I am in nigeria or ghana.

Being nosey, sometimes when a guy writes to me, I mooch into the profiles of the "friends" on his profile and it's immediately obvious to me that many poor blokes are being scammed by these "women". They are usually stunningly beautiful/cg enhanced,
have pictures of huge mansions that they bought at age 21 and earn a million dollars+ a year.
The dead giveaway is during an obvious edit further down their profile where they become hugely angry at the scam accusations they are being sent.
Anyone that converts to capitals and starts to rant and rage during their own "advert" is best avoided in my opinion!
I doubt the women in this case are foreign, gold-diggers more like..
I've seen the same in men too. Very beautiful, but with a huge chip on their shoulder.

I really wasn't trying to offend anyone. Those same red flags are written up on the net to teach people how to recognize them. I am really sorry that I offended you in anyway - I didn't mean to. I am also sorry that you don't like how I look. I would never intentionally say something to try to make you feel bad. I make mistakes as well in grammer, but the scammers mistakes are consistant in certain ways. I was only trying to be of help not to hurt anyone's feelings.

Well, I don't usually join in on the forums and tonight taught me two things. Nomatter what I add to the discussion I seem to step on peoples toes, and I had no idea that my profile photo was so offensive that it would inspire men to verbally attack me. So to remedy this I will probably not join in on the forums in the future and I am changing out the photo that seems to offend people so much. I came on this site to make friends not enemies. I answered another post about hair color and really got blasted over it as well. Sorry to all that I offended.

Many end their sentence with, ok?

They often refer to you as "dear".

They are always well educated and in a professional field YET can pick up and move anywhere for the right woman.

They are typically "widowed" and/or their child lives with their grandmother.

Sometimes they are more sophisticated. IF I'm not certain I write,

If there is enough of a connection to meet I'm certain you won't mind me running a complete background check on you. I will not be sending you any money for any reason. I had a friend who was scammed and thanks to my help the man is now in jail. Tough luck. Of course, I'm certain you wouldn't have any problem with my concerns....

Misty, don't let a few insensitive jerks run you off, people that react that way to an inocent post have got some serious issues to work out. They are the exception not the norm from what I have seen on here. Don't change a thing about yourself because of a few bad seeds.

I have had a couple and you are absolutely right. It is obvious by wording and spelling that they are scammers. However, beware of the not so obvious scammers!

Regardless of where you go online, if you see a woman's (??) profile with a picture or pictures most men would rate a '7' or better, there's a 99.99999% chance that it's some sort of fake/fraud/scam.

Don't let one or two negative people run you off. I looked at your profile and it seemed fine to me. I appreciate the advice on the phrase to use and will try it next time I get one of those emails. I usually get them more on myspce than anywhere else. Thanks so much.
PS you are quite pretty, don't let them tell you otherwise.

Op Thanks for the updated warning- I have also gotten them from women who don't seem to realize who they're sending them to. Block and Block!
