It's not that you don't have to be a prick per say. Too nice is one side of the pendalum, and being a prick is the other side, but the pendulum will eventually stop in the middle, and that's where you need to be.......a nice prick

Trust me, I have tried both ways and they say want opposite of what you are. I am the really nice guy...they find someone else and tell me they want a BAD guy. I play the biggest prick and they say I am a mean person and need someone nice. I choose to be nice and all of the younger women can go get abused by their men. If that is what you feel life is all about, then se ya in ten years when you girls grow up.

You don't have to be a prick. Just be a bit of a challenge, be interesting and be adventurous. You boys just don't get it. We don't want pricks, we just want excitement. How hard can it really be?

oh, skimmed right over that 'c' word....hmmm..sounds pissed off, hurt, that's all..and unfortunately common for the good guy....you have just not met the right kind of girl.... continue to pursure being a good man...don't always be led with your eyes, but use your head too...i understand attraction..but make sure they can carry on a conversation with you too.....and laugh with you..take care of you.....with time looks fade, but brains, humor, and compassion can be very entertaining and sustaining!

that a boy you can go from being rejected to being controlled seeing that you are going to let women determine how you are so you can get one or at least you think thats what is going to happen, try thinking in advance and what are you going to be if the prick approach dosent work

Being an a**hole is what seems to work.

I mean The last relationship I had ended with the little b*tch ripping my heart out,and every woman I've talked to since has tried to use me as a way to get back at their bf,or to keep the "Scary" guy away from them.

I'm just f**king sick of it.

Being the nice guy has never worked out for me.

Just as soon as I let a lady know she means anything to me it's over, she walks out and I'm back at square f**king one.

nice guys are so hard to find, that when ya do find one its refreshing. I agree it can be a pain in the butt but in the end when u do find that one special person who appreciates it its all worth it. Everything happens for a reason and prepares us for our "soul mate" Or at least thats what i believe. Good luck and stay sweet!

How about starting with changing your word habbits? I don't know about anyone else here, but I don't like the "C" word, and it's not polite to degrade someone caling them a "little b*tch" in the forums, or continuosly using the "F" word....

Sure you can vent to a point, but I don't think you would want jail time for your actions here, or to be kicked off totaly from the site. Just a word of caution.....

You can be careful without being a prick...

We all get hurt and we all have the capability of bouncing back. i have been kick in the head and i still get up and move on. Each person is different you can't treat everyone the same. Also each situation will not be the same.

Never! I know I'm not a guy, but I'm probably one of the nicest sweetest people you would ever meet..No matter what, I am kind. In fact I believe in killing people with kindness especially when they are being hateful..I don't believe in retaliation..there have been a few people here on dh that like to pick my posts apart and insult me from time to time when I express "my" opinion..I don't usuallly respond to them and if I do, I try to be as polite as I can..what purpose does it serve to attack one another? We all have the right to freedom of speech whether or not we agree with what is being said..it's the american way..

Why are you so angry? Because you have been rejected? Hun we have all experienced that..remember that no one is better than another, no matter what you have been told..you have not found the right type of ladies apparently..I'm sorry you are so upset about your situation, but with some maturity in time you will learn how to handle rejection better and not be so bitter..just move on..the right one is out there some where waiting for you..be nice and win her over when you meet her..

That's true....but it seems that it will take them longer to walk out on the prick vs. the nice guy....a lot of women on this site have admitted that they stayed in a relationship (even a marriage) with the prick for too long.....they seem to be more loyal to the prick...and even though they regret it later, the prick is in the better position than the nice guy.

It is not because they wanted to stay with a prick, it is because they got in to deep with a prick and couldn't find a way out. Of course we regret it. Just like men regret choosing the beautiful woman over the woman with substance. Bottom line, we all choose the hot one over the one with substance. Do we regret it? Yep, we regret it over and over again. Do we keep making the same mistakes? Yep, we make them over and over again. For the record, this is Klassy kicking herself in the a** not making judgment over anyone, just being real.

Iam getting tired.. Man is harder been an a$$ho(e I just cant do it though. In my previous relationship I was the nicest man. I'm saying a total gent.. open the car door the front door pull the chair out and wouldn't sit down until she was sitting. Would get up if she was getting up of her chair . Would offer my chair for a female friend . Well pretty much the basic stuff . She took all that for granted. Now I'm more relax less of a gen. of course but still courteous. I guess nowadays nobody gives a crap. your nice just for paying your part of the bill..lol in an outing.I tried been an a** but is just too hard . I'm used to been good with everyone, polite and courteous.

What really got me is the relationship I had with Erica.

After things fell apart in Ky we moved to Cali, everything changed for the better,I was getting back to my old self (weight and health wise)our love life was great,we went out regularly, talked each others ears off about our day.

Everything was going good, until I got back from an errand and passed a guy on the steps he had just walked out of our apartment, a smile on his face a mile wide, when I walked in she was just getting out of the shower (She had taken one before I went out)

I asked her about the guy that just walked out of the apartment.

She told me he was better than I would ever hope to be,I lost it told her off, packed my stuff, took my money out of the drawer (Barely enough to buy the plane ticket back home I might add) Told her where to go and how to get there, then as I walked out the same guy was laughing and talking to his boys about it,I walked over knocked him on his a** dared the others to do anything about it,and went to the nearest bus stop, went to the air port and was on my way home.

Whether nice or rude, depends heavily on opinion of who ever concerns themselves. Most of the females in my area talk, with no genuine proof of chasing after their verbally desired prince. I have yet to find a female in my area, that claims to want a nice, gentle man, and actually does the work to find him. Easy to say, though hard to entirely prove, every female that I have met, is equally fake and full of deceit. Beyond just vaguely claiming that "most" claim to want different than the common creep, it seems, in analyzing the situation, that the common non-married female in my area, will accept crap and abuse, just because they want to not be out of the pool of "just like every other female", that they acknowledge. Many of the women who i have met, who are in relationships, with guys that aren't slugs, enjoy being condescending and patronizing, when they come in contact with a single gentleman like me. Though it's not just the female gender, who does little to no more than just talk, talk, talk, when it comes to wants, needs, actions, thoughts. If both genders did more than just sit, stand, or whatever, and talk, then chatrooms and blog sites, and gossip places and groups would implode and disappear. Anyone who complains like the title of this thread, assumes and craves for the impossible, of things being simplistic. Much of life is simple, but not the "Ozzy and Hariette" variety of simple. One overly ignored delimma with people today, is their willingness to not take action, in the chance of defeating, destroying, or even "simply" leaving their routine or "comfort zone". I am tired, too true to be stated, of meeting inactive people, nevermind the gender. I am beyond description, sick of the losers who talk crap, yet won't either shut up, or show their genuine physical abilities; equally, I am tired of the fake girls, who complain of lack of satisfaction with their lives, due really, to their choices, rather than due supposedly to the "short comings" of their lovers. If any girl actually reads to this lower position, and beyond, do more than consider this, "You're vastly more to blame for your lack of satisfaction, than some guy".

I don't understand how someone just becomes a "bad guy". Like waking up and stop being nice and then being nasty all day long?? Kick a few dogs?? Shut doors in peoples faces?? Rude on the phone?? let a date sit in the car because you won't open the door for her?? fart?? Seems as if a person might be looked at as an a**hole instead of a bad guy. I don't know what "bad" is. Do bad guys kick blind people and steal from poor boxes?? Do they make fun of unfortunate people?? I just don't get this concept. I picture dressing like a biker and smacking a woman around and throwing food in a diner---is that what people think attracts women??

TH, that is because you are too smart to become a bad guy. I don't know how you got as smart as you are, and I don't know how in the world you are still single, but I would guess you are a lot like me.

Oh dear, that's a shame..she is a player, and not worthy of your affection..I understand you are hurting and that hurt has turned to anger and you certainly have every right..But, don't turn yourself into a mean guy on her behalf..believe me, it will serve no purpose. It takes more energy to act hateful than it does to be a nice person..being nice is healthy and you attract a better class of people..hang in there, you'll see..

You have to stand firm about what you believe in and still be Nice .At your age it seems like nice guys get used but thats not always the case.If you let a women do whatever she wants because you like her than you easy not nice.Easy guys get used. You can be Nice and Stern about your beliefs or rules. One of my rules is I dont pay for a women bills or anything else till I feel I know her well enough to help her.Thats just rule I have but I am very nice.Ive seen guys pay every bill for a women they really don't know yet. They they feel used.no wonder

When I read threads like this one, I wonder about the kind of women you want to attract.

When my ex-husband took up with this cocaine-abusing stripper a few years ago, a mutual friend (of his and mine) told me that if she ever leaves him, he'll get another one just like her because that's the only kind of woman who will have him.

Well, they broke up, and he went right back to the same strip club and started dating one of her friends, who also strips and uses cocaine. (They're happily married.)

If you're truly nice, it seems you would prefer being with a woman who wants a nice guy. Then again, if you're getting tired, maybe it's from all that acting. Nice guys don't call women c*nts, because they don't feel that way toward women in their heart.

hey man, don't change yourself into something that you think women want. instead of trying to be the bad guy, try not being too giving and let them walk over you.

i didnt know that nice guys used the "C" word...
although it simly means "cant understand normal thinking".
there has to be a happy medium. to be a gentleman in the streets and an animal in the sheets. most women i know like to be shown off and pampered in public..ie; holding hands, PDA (public displays of attention) and what not, but at the same time they want a man who takes control and throws them around like a ragdoll in the bedroom making them call you daddy. I'm sick of being the guy that wades through all kinds of hell just to be rejected,or told that I'm not good enough.

F.T.W.

I have NEVER told a man he is not good enough. I wouldn't do that. You must be going for all of the GORGEOUS women who are shallow and vein, because you are shallow and vein, and only want to look for someone who is perfect on the outside. I know men that do that, and can't keep a woman because they always want better than them, or they just end up using them. good luck. And if you're a prick to me, I'd get up and walk out.

You don't have to be a prick. Just be a bit of a challenge, be interesting and be adventurous. You boys just don't get it. We don't want pricks, we just want excitement. How hard can it really be?

Its very hard.

So why can't the nice guy get that same kind of loyalty? Good behavior reinforced can lead to more good behavior.....and why WOULDN'T someone act like a prick if that's the behavior that get's rewarded more so than being a nice guy?

Well...to me excitement is going skiing, taking trips to Vegas, going to clubs, movies, amusement parks etc. But the ironic thing is that the typical prick i.e. "bad boy" doesn't do these things with his gf. It's always the nice guy that will offer a free trip to the movies, dinner, or where ever the lady wants to go....and like I said it's usually the nice guy who pays....

I think some pricks are good at flirting and making a woman feel like she's queen of the earth...these dudes are good with women, and for women I think that's the exciting part for women (and they fall for it almost every time). Flirting and ego boosting is an acquired skill, some nice guys have it and some don't....but anyone can learn.

I thought I was dating a nice guy until I found out he was an a-hole pretending to be a nice guy. People should just be themselves.

Come on now thats extreme....Lick your wounds dust yourself off pick yourself up and move on....Sounds harsh but believe me it happens to women too...And yes it sucks big time... But in the end being yourself is best and its also honest....Dont judge every woman by the bad experience of this one...She will get what she deserves and you will move on and one day be so thankful that you did...I havent ever told a man hes no good I havent been nasty at all when I have moved on...I just close the door gently ...But I am always myself and I'm not changing a single thing for anyone...Good luck in the future.....

there is a difference between being a "nice guy" and a guy who lets people walk over him. Confidence speaks a million words. Don't be someones slave. If you don't respect yourself and your wants and needs; why will anyone else?
