william9_17 Kelseyville, CA age: 24 online now!	Lately I've been called a racist for my views on Illegal Imegration. As far as I'm concered every adult who's entered this country illegally and of his own free will is by deffinition a criminal and shoud be treated as such. Why we allow this to go on in our country is something I just can't understand. It is costing the american tax payers hundreds of billions of dollers to provide these people with health care and other Health and Human Services. In California alone we spend right around a billion dollers every year just housing illelgals in our jails and prisons. Now don't get me wrong...I DO NOT have a problem with good hardworking people who want to come to this country and pursue the the American Dream and do this legally. As soon as they become citizen I view them as much americans as myself. The truth is we need to build two walls one on the Canadian border and the other on the Mexican one! Not these piece of shit chain link fences but the great wall of china kind. If they could do it like 3,000 years ago why can't we do it now in the 21st Century? If I was president I would make the border patrol a true branch of the US military with all the training and military grade weapons that goes with it. I also think that we should re-work the laws to make it easier for the right people to coe here and harder for the wrong people to get here. Why am I a racist becouse of my beliefs?

be4eyedieagain Janesville, WI age: 44	I have been a pretty staunch supporter of securing our borders but am starting to believe it will never happen, in fact they will become more open as time progresses. Are the Illegal Aliens Criminals? It is more complicated than that. They have broken our laws, true. But then again everyone here probably has broken one or more laws in their lifetime. But what about their children that have been born here? Do you honestly believe we can identify all "12 to 20 million" illegal aliens and deport them? I can't see that happening in America. If I were a father and poor and living in Mexico, and I knew that a better life was a few miles away...I'd be finding a way to get that better life as well. My point is, reality tells me what is done is done and can not be undone. We need to figure out a better way to solve this problem than by deporting, stereotyping, alienating that big of a group of persons. And believe me many illegal aliens are not from Mexico. 12 to 20 million is equivalent to 4 or 5 Chicago's. Do you really think our dysfunctional Government can handle a task that big much less afford it?

I have been fortunate not to have been born in a poverished nation full of famine, disease and conflict, nor would I want to have to live that way. Melting pot? what happened to the land of the free? what happened to a nation of open arms? Should we remove the statue of liberty and condemn anyone who was not born here? I am no better or worse than anyone and will not pass judgement on those who seek a better life. I have a friend from Puerto Rico who came as a child to America. It was not until he was an adult when he became a citizen, but worked his a** off for little or nothing to survive in the mean time. He is a valiant citizen and a well known humanitarian to all. He rehabs houses for low income families and rents several of his own properties for very little. He believes in the American dream for all. Now that he has achieved this, he freely passes along opportunities for youth projects, community events, volunteers with many organizations and has left his mark as an outstanding example of what America's values are all about. He has never turned down someone in need and continues to be actively working at the age of 68, as many today are. He has gained the utmost respect in the community and will be missed when he is gone by many, and his legacy of the works he has labored for others lives on as a representation of a true gentleman. And to think, He was an illegal immigrant seeking a better life, suffering and striving for the next days meal at one point in his life........... Makes ya feel lucky to know such a person, whom sets a good example for others while helping build community for all. and yet, most here would slit his throat and throw him out to sea, because he is different and did not have the great fortune of being born into citizenship............ Nope! Unlike us........... He had to earn it..... Always ,, J MAN

You are correct 12-20 millions illegals...It's not like they are j-walking...theirs is a real serious crime or at least it should be! Any yes the children are a problem...Illegals come here and the first thing they do is start popping out kids. They use thier children as anchors! Americans don't like to be seen as being cruel and since the childrens are americans we can not deport them. They laws need to be changed so that Illegal Aliens children who are born here are not aerican citizens!

crabberman Wilmington, DE age: 51	the people from other countries coming here to make a true better life for themselves and becoming American citizens any way they can I have no problem with that..but there is a very big percentage of people coming here..and particularly from Mexico and Central America..that only come here to work and take the money and run back to thier country and live high on the hog...I know...I have been in construction work for over 32 years..I see it all the time...those people could care less about this country..all they want is to make the fast money and run....and they are the illegals that need to be stopped and give the rest a bad name.
