Heh, sorry for this in advance.
But I'd love to see the SNL do a skit with a guy and girl on their first date.
They're at dinner, just sit down to eat then the fun begins.
He brings out the single flower and hands it to her with a smile, she accepts and smiles and puts it to the side before diner.
Then the delivery men show up with flower vases, wreaths, and start placing them around her. The violinist shows up to start playing love songs. A mariachi group strolls up and starts interfering with the violinist. They get into a fight over the best place to be to play to her. A singing telegram guy shows up with chocolates. Then the camera guy shows up and tries to take pictures of the moment to save for their eventual wedding album (and even identifies himself as a wedding photographer).
Maybe have it zip pass the eventual meal and to the exit interviews where she says something like, "Yeah, it was a little over the top. Will I see him again? No, but the Mariachi singer was hot, got his number."

Yeah, a flower will do nicely. Best not push it too far though, unless ya want to do a SNL skit.
