well here's the secret.....ready Washingtonians? I have a big one.......I know where the jobs are going and approx. when. Want to get ready? It's like this, The world is crashing around us and there are many ideas on the table right? Here is the idea that is going to work! The political attitudes of some may damper or construde true facts but...the jobs will hit true shovel ready agencies and small government outlets!!!! How do I know? Because that is what I do, I am a weatherization dept. director. I have been given the word that we WILL increase up to 10 fold within as soon as 2 months! Want a job? a career? I got the facts lets chat! I'd like to see the good old boys NOT control this fabulous opportunity as they always seem to. Help? Ideas? I'm growing my dept. so fast it's mind bogling...Little scared too. Well maybe just concerned. Believe me its not just insulation we're talking about for jobs.

After a little research, I came up with a some information regarding this thread, I think it may be of interest to many searching for Jobs in the green industry.
I found the information on the web at Washington State Dept. of Community/Trade and economic development. There's an agency resource book and an initiative regarding the green industries and areas of growth.
Search for www.cted.wa.gov.

Lincoln County - $2 million in loans and grants to the Odessa Public Development Authority (PDA) for construction of an industrial park that will support green businesses including a regional composting facility. As a result of this project, the PDA is expected to create and retain a total of 59 jobs which will exceed the average county wage by 17 percent. CERB funds are matched by more than $3.4 million in local funds.

Haven't worked out the details--just idle dreaming on my part. It would seem that SOMEBODY has to test these products--why not me? And as Condom Man, I should get to decide who to test with...otherwise I would get testy!
Of course, bad things happen with the ones that are defective...

You"GUYS" are just trippen up the subject here....sheesh.
Look; here I am again the same real subject; I am moving forward so fast I can't see straight with the new program. I could use some friendly support in ideas maybe, probably not a recipient of a condom testing facility but...I am trying to put together the fastest warehouse move in my life! from 1800 sq feet to 10,000. I don't sleep much, I drink probably to much and I know I'm not the only one. So much to do so little time so little information available. So few friends to chat with about the forces of evil. I finally won the argument over how big a facility I have to have is to be and now the argument over how many employees.....from 4 in the beginning now 10 to maybe 16-18 OMG my heads going to blow off. At least a smile from someone?

I think I may have to actually grow up over this...damn it. just hope that I don't get all hung up like our elders did...are. Trying to keep it real..and fair! NO Genderism here. Which is rare, but...I am a powerful woman boss...that hopes to hire other power house people no matter what the race, gender, or size. Education, well that's important, also no smoking..that is still an issue here in WA...why? Thanks Again!

well the system is in place to provide home audits and basic education for energy conservation and health and safety habits in a residnetial structure 1st. Providing services directly in a clients home reqires a major back ground check, a current drivers license, good driving skills ( we have crap weather in WA if hadn't noticed)excellant communication skills, high school diploma or GED. No exceptions. 2nd the state test for Lead Based Paint safety requires a minimum education of at least a GED and 3 years in the construction field. Office persons all of the above plus, Excel and Access program greatness. All employees must be organized, friendly humorous, and ready to tackle the world. No clock watchers because, the clock has nothing to do with what we do. We work until the job is done. MATH...math and more MATH! Savings are proved by replacing or installing energy products. Lots of paperwork and tracking. Organized people with good understanding of construction and can work with low income people should apply. My group does not tolerate smoking or any type of tabaco use. We set an example every time we go to a clients home, as well as the danger of exposure to lead smoking is the #1 way to poison yourself as an adult. Look to your local weatherization department. Look up the word weatherization and search!!!
