Can any of you southern gentlemen explain to me why a man would communicate with someone for a very long time and then run off without even saying "see ya"....gosh...I feel that he was searching for greener pastures the entire time we were communicating. HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS

Thank you Richard, for that thought, very kind of you to notice my profile as well. I still feel I was actually dumped without having one single date! I almost feel that he had a safety net. Maybe a universe of women just in case I didn't accept an offer to meet. His next victim was just a mouse click away..this stings!

Whitie, I certainly hope he didn't feel that way. That would be horrible if I made him feel, "not good enough for me"...I wouldn't want anyone to feel like that. Actually, I was really interested in this man, and was jumping out of my skin with anticipation to meet him! However, you might have a valid point..thanks for your input!

could be a mriad of things, it's not as if we're all created from one mold. could simply be he got tired, moved on, found someone else, etc., etc., but the bottom line is he was either too wimpy to say, 'see ya' or felt it better not to say anything because he didn't want to hurt you. either case, only 'he' really knows.

Could be......That most men are afraid of beautiful women , like yourself. Afraid of getting to involved then having their ego step on.

Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom, the advice, the compliments. I feel like I'll never know the answer however, I have learned NOT to become emotionally attached from exchanging mail! Great lesson for me..

I figure he is a cross dresser and figured out I will not share my things with him..Why else would he not just say this is not working for me..

That works both ways, a girl did the same thing to me a couple of months ago. I completely agree about not getting emotionally attached to someone without meeting them.

Hey don't feel bad the same thing happens to use men also. I have had many great email conversations and even IM chats and sometimes even GREAT phone conversations and things seemed to be progressing right along and POOF, gone without a I found someone else or any kind of reason. But I will continue just to be myself and will NOT put up any barriers or filters on myself. You look like a GREAT woman. I wish you all good. ~ Rod

Rod, Thanks for responding. I realize now that men have been put in the same position as I found myself in... And as for that compliment, thank you. I've been given kind words here, great advice by many and I feel most certainly that email exchanges are fine but they should not be the substance of a friendship. Within a certain amount of time, if someone doesn't push the.."Lets Meet" button, then chances are one or the other is not serious regarding putting forth effort into a special realtionship. I simply have to draw a time line in my mind, and move on if the time comes and the line is not crossed!
Thanks for you imput.

csh555, don't take it personal. He probably does that to many women. The things is to not put all your eggs in one basket. Don't limit yourself to talking to one guy until you have met, established a relationship and decided to be exclusive. No need to limit your options until you are sure.

Hi, new here. I got to reading some of this and I kinda see both sides. I am talking to several women but if I meet one and things click.... I am a one woman kinda guy. Once a commitment is made even if it's just not to see other people. Just my thoughts.
Oh, and csh555, I read your profile, that's how I found this thread, I have to ask, what did you mean by a 'small life'? I understand the valuable part. I can see how you might intimidate some guys, you are very attractive and you no doubt have class.

I have to agree with Sassy.Put any man in the right place,The right time, and the right girl, and he will stray. The guy who said They just like to mow was a guy who is not afraid to tell the truth.way to go. I am sure you were not the only one he was communicating with.Sometimes people lie about themselves on these sites, when it starts to get to the point they are going to have to meet you they simply vanish.Because they are not who they say they are.

there are a lot of players on the dating sites, a lot of people aren't what they say they are..but then on the other hand, there are a lot of good people.
anybody can be anything they want to be on here but when you meet in person, the truth comes out.

csh555 I can see why you'd wonder.Alot of men dont want to commit or even realize what it is to put the badger away and get down to business. In my opinion.great for you.You didnt need to be emotionally wrecked by this loser anyway.I have sent you a note of introduction and I do look foward to an answer to it.This Southern gent knows the value of a good woman and yes,Im seeking my last ONE AND ONLY green lush pasture. When I find her Im done traveling over that next hill to see whats on the other side.Hope that helps...

He may not KNOW what he wants.
About a year and a half ago I met someone and we were attracted to each other, so we started seeing each other once or twice a week. He would call me every day - with a wake-up call (ugh!), during the middle of the day, at night. After 5 weeks, he just quit calling with no explanation. The day of his last call, he called me like he always did and said he'd talk to me "tomorrow." No argument, no weird actions, just like someone flipped off a light switch.
I've met several women at some of the local events who have experienced the same thing with him - that's just how he operates. He just quits calling. The thing is, he's not one of those guys that's just after sex, and he doesn't sleep around. It would make sense if that was it. But every single time he starts seeing someone he's all "ooey-gooey" at first. Those of us that have been out with him make bets on how long it will last every time he starts seeing someone else. It's almost always less than 2 months.
So, don't take it personally. It may be more about him than you.

Without reading thru all the replies there may had been any one reason he vanished. One he may had not been whom he said he was, another marriage or already attached. He could had been a game player and figured he won and moved on maybe an illness in the family. Really any one of them could be the answer he only knows and sadly you're left wondering.
One thing I would like to advise is don't judge us by his actions. Some of us here are really here for the purpose to find that one person that we can be happy with and possibly have a future with. Also as far as getting attached to someone thru emails don't let that stop you and who you are. Be aware and read there words and meanings closely if we control our feelings by not letting them go and we be who we are then you loose and so does the one that walked away because he felt he wasn't making progress in a relationship. Those of us that are real have nothing to prove and won't play games, we/They will turn and walk if we feel we are having to prove ourselves due to some unworthy guy from the past.
I to read your profile and you will not have a problem finding the man for you just continue to be yourself and believe and never give up and he will come around. You're a beautiful lady so relax and enjoy.
