last Thanksgiving I was alone and was not going to cook or visit. A couple days before Thanksgiving, I was in the gro store and a lady made the comment that she hated having to buy a 15# ham for only herself for Thanksgiving. An idea popped into my head, and I asked if she would be willing to split one with me? She asked how, and I asked the butcher if he would cut it down the middle, 1/2 for her 1/2 for me. He said, sure.... we were both happy.

i shop like most of you, and try to eat healthy. I make meals and freeze the leftovers. Buy a 4 pack of split chicken breast, grill them, 2 meals from 2 of them, then cut the other two up and make chinese. Cant freeze the chinese so you'll have chinese for a couple nights.

spaghetti, you can freeze, noddles last a long time in the frig. I use freezer bags or serving size plastic containers to freeze it. Sure comes in handy when i come home late and no time to cook, just pop on in the microwave, and dinner!

I get more than annoyed, when i hold a door open and motion for some lady to proceed through, and do not get a smile, nod, or a thanks. Surely, a small nod of appreciation is not uncalled for.

The hoops that you have to go through to get HMO's to pay something that you're intitled to--medicines--hospital stays--doctors--etc.

I usually buy large packages of things at the grocery store and repackage them after I get home because if you buy single servings you pay three times higher for it.

After you get those things that are hard to open and you find something is missing and can't be returned.

Valid point "Butterfly"....
another thing that seems to annoy me, or possibly just an adjustment thing on my part..Last night I helped a buddy assemble an Oak Rolltop desk that he bought for his wife for their anniversary. While taking it out of the boxes we realized it was made in China then we discovered there weren't any instructions or assembly parts... Case in point their anniversary is today, and the Store can't provide the parts/instructions until monday.

oh, this one gets me to the very bone.....

take your purchases to the counter for payment, or ordering your burger, fries and chocolate shake (doesn't everyone order choc shakes?), and your total pops up on the register. say the register shows $4.82. You hand the cashier a $5 bill, plus 7¢ change expecting to get a quarter back. I've had this happen so many times, where the cashier was dumbfounded and couldn't make the correct change unless the register shows them what to return to you, or, they will comment, "its only $4.82, you gave me a $ and dont need to give me 7¢." After saying this, he/she would enter $5 into the register and start counting out 18¢. I respond that i would simply like a quarter back instead of 18¢. the shocked look i get usually results in the head cashier or mgr having to come and make proper change.

these people are in high school and going to finish school soon? or they've just finished high school and expect to make it with this limited knowledge of math?

Oh yeah, thats a good one Knight and unfortunately it happens WAY to often, suggesting/implying our schools are missing the mark. Might be time to revert back to "basics".........it certainly didn't hurt us.

I am handicapped and it burns me up that people will stand there and just watch me stuggle with a door instead of helping me with it. And shouldn't drs. offices have doors that are handicapped usable.

agent05949 - After I get the vice grips out of the plastic wrap, then I can open the rest of my tools, cds, and other items. I find that CD's are the worst. Outer celophane wrap, 1 to 3 adhesive security strips on the outside, and that little black security inventory tag inside, I am like Adrian Monk, I can't stand extraneous stickers, etc on merchandise. Does, anyone get bugged when you go into a grocery store or any store for that matter, and the aisles are filled with these inventory clerks with what looks like e oversized walkie talkies, and all you hear is clicky, clicky and nine times out of ten, they are standing in front of the item you are looking for, me, I just move on and come back.

trublu - I have never experienced anyone, trying to sneeze on the phone, I have something to look forward to it.

There is one thing that has happened to me--staying at a motel--and in the next room, they r partying all night-so have to call the desk several times to get it quiet enough to get any sleep at all--grrrrr

The other thing that gripes me is people who do not appreciate a thing being done for them--you owe it to them--lol:

The other thing is people hollering at their kids and abusing them--I could just strangle them when that happens---those poor kids.

lotsafuninpa gives all a warm hug for this cold weather----hugssssss--lotsafuninpa

I have a real gripe with people who walk in front of the power carts at the store and it is all you can do to get it to stop.

I cannot stand people who stand in the way when you are trying to get somewhere and they block the aisles and stop and have conversations and never even notice anyone wants to pass by them.

Lending someone money in a "desperate jam" and then they seem to forget....

later they tell ya about all the cool things they did since then and expensive stuff they bought and the whole time forgeting they still owe you money... lol

Not doing that again....

I really hate it when you go somewhere and the staff that is supposed to be waiting on me is having a personal conversation the whole time I am waiting on them. State agencies are the worst.

Yesterday GW was in town and they had the whole city of Columbia in gridlock all day so the wimp could be here safely... what a waste of our time and political office... lol

I spent 1.5 hours sitting on the Intersate, finally made a U turn to go around and found it to be the same everywhere...... that will annoy a saint. Did get to watch a T Bone wreck develop right in front of me... kinda neat to watch but really sucked for the victims vehicles.
