Yep but if ya were here during the "Good ole days" you would know what we are referring to about the old members. It was a lot different and I guess there were a lot less people on the forums too.

Somehow the kids found out about us and started butting into every thread with childish crap that really caught a few of us off guard. Some took it serious, most of us just blew it off as temporary. Now that school is back in it's slowed a bit but could start up at any time.

I still don't see where you say people here dictate anything.... and if we banter a bit amongst ourselves that's kinda normal too. Soon the new people adjust and join in or leave.

A lot of the people you would consider "Old members" have not been here that long either and they soon find out that it is a lot of fun to just join in and forget that they are "new"

Have fun, that's why we come here.... over and over... lol

You always did have a way with the words. Some come and go... goodness knows I have. When I hear some talk about the old ones, I just smile... cuz they don't know that there are some who have been here even longer that those of us who have been here longer than them.

I hear from Pastor Trojan weekly.. he still has the best smile of all and the kindest heart.

Since there's only one 50+ forum and everything is covered in it, you'll sometimes find something that will offend you or not your personal view on it. But it should be taken as good natured fun and not personal. I enjoy reading different aspects other than my own even though I don't always agree on them.

I hope I never become so used to these forums as to say "Oh NO not that again, it's been done sooo many times!" because there will always be new people and new ways to look at the same question.

well there is only one way to do it and it's like the first swim of the year.... JUMP IN!

there are many people that left here and are now on another site that has limited membership, free but limited to keep the kids out. I still like it here though. I've visitd the other site but not joined... just don't have time to keep up with two sites, this one takes up too much time sometimes... lol

tru,

I'm fairly new hear since first week of October... and the back stabbing has already affected me... was thinking seriously of deleting profile then decided to delete my "friends" instead. It seems people contact your "friends" and talk about YOU ...childish and immature behavior... don't want any part of it.

I also received an email(from someone I've never talked to through email) bashing a person here in the 50+ threads...I didn't respond to it. Copied and pasted it to the person they referred to. The offender left the site the next day!

My friends and family know I wouldn't tolerate or participate in this type of behavior in my "real" life... I certainly won't tolerate or participate in it here.

I too, was enjoying the threads and the opinions and personalities of the people who join in on the conversations.

I'm on this site, like everyone else, to meet someone for a romantic relationship, not to play games... well maybe certain games...

I like that idea cottage and have done it before, too. It stinks to have to call adults on gossip, lies and bullying... but I won't be a part of it. If I mess up, I would hope someone would call me on it, too.

You are going to find all sorts of conversations and quips that will amuse us, make us laff, make us ponder and tick us off. It's that way with any group of people who are mingling together. It just happens. I'm hoping that.. in our forum here... we can be models to what a forum can actually be. Of course, we are gonna hit a nerve once in awhile and upset someone unintentionally.. but that is human. AND by the way, we must always remember that there is indeed a HUMAN behind each keyboard.
I am enjoying the new people as I enjoy the older ones here. Again.. what I said in an earlier post about not wanting new ones.. wanting my old friends back.. was just a little sob of disappointment that some have left... I meant no harm by it.
I luvvvvvvv this forum and the people in it. It is wonderful to laff my head off one min and be serious the next. It will all work out.. it always does

trublu - I remember a few months back on another Forum, where one particular lady was totally indignet about any misspelled words and misuse of punctuation. Of course, I wrote an answer using words that sound alike, but are spelled different. There is a word for that, synonym, antonym, hyperbole, etc. don't remember. Concluded that all of the words passed the spell checker. Big mistake. Anyway, a number of you, seem to misspell words or use a different word, i.e. wiff in place of with. I am assuming, that a lot of this is on purpose and to lighten the conversation. Please, I am not being critical, but for the sake of these forums, if I mispell a word, make a bad contraction, use the e before i, it will not upset anybody, or reflect on my character ---->

trublu - Thank you. That reminds me. My wife had PPPFFTT on her liscence plate on her car, a 1978 midnight blue Ford Granada. I was quite a conversation piece, as we looked through the rear window at the automobile in back of us.
