I read a lot from people who get stood-up. What do think is the most common cause?
Personally I have NEVER "stood up" anyone. 
I may have not gotten to a date on a FEW occassions, but I call and explain my delay or reason for not making it. I'm not going to leave someone standing there wondering, waiting, an in a cloud of miserable mystry and self questioning, doubt or anger at the rudeness of being "stood up."   
And I DO mean call to explain my "REASON" ... NOT "EXCUSE!" There's a huge difference and I'm simply too damned nice, honest, polite and considerate to treat even a lousy date that way. 
Being a genuine "NICE" guy is aa doomsday lable socially,  but I am what I am ...Yay for me

.....it's very rude to "no show" on a planned first date....but then the again, the person who does this>>>HAS DELUSIONS OF ADEQUACY

I have to say, after meeting a couple of guys from another site, I have put my guard up..Its true you can be anything and anyone on the net, but until you actually sit face to face you never know who is on the other side of the screen...but this can work both ways, you can either take the chance of meeting and the other person being your worse nightmare, or take the chance of not meeting and losing the person of your dreams..Each case is different...But you have to look at this way, if life was so simple, would we be on a dating site?..LOL

Absolutely!!!!!....I have them drive down Oak street at 2pm with a large yellow flag out the driver's side window...they see me wave as i drive by and that is the first , quick meeting....no nervous handshake or embarrassing silence to deal with.....
