I believe the issue is that we live in the world of "NOW". We eat on the run, we sleep when we can, and we talk right now. We no longer value the definition of "I Love you", or "Your my friend", you know stuff like that. All we know is how to take and never think of what we have taken. These things are being programed into our children that make up our families, that ultimately make up our societies. So your issue of "NOW" causes us to undermind our every attempt to enjoy eachother. We use up eachother and toss ourselves aside looking for something else when in fact we will never find it cause it was already there in front of you. That's why our divorce rate is so high and marriage rate is almost non-existence. Why we have so many single family households that have multiple children growing up with fractured families. The "NOW" is virtually killing us on an emotional and psychological level. So to wrap it up, what is missing is just "taking time". We live longer now so we should act like it rather than act like tomorrow isn't coming. Even if it doesn't, you have today so don't waste it on worrying about tomorrow.
