What age hit you the hardest? Turning 18 and knowing you were now an adult and responsible for your own actions? Turning 30 and perhaps begining to wonder where the last 10 years went? How about 40 and looking in the mirror to see a laugh line or crows feet that didn't seem to be there yesterday? How about the big 50?
Turning 30 didn't hurt. I turned 40 and had to come to the conclusion that I was no longer 39! That hit me pretty hard. I was not looking forward to turning fffffffffifty this year.. damn, still hard to say or type that number!

Personally I have had no problem marking the different milestones in my life. I will say that the 50's have been the best so far. I only have a few weeks left until I turn 56 which is sort of the down hill slide to 60. Hopefully everything does not start falling apart on me now.

Mine was 67. When I found out that was the age I was retired at and my 6 figure a year salary was down the tubes, lost health insurance and went on Medicare.
I would recommend the poem "The Wonderful One Hos Shay" by Oliver Wendall Holmes

Oh [blocked site] you are so busted.... back to the 40's forum for you...
Divorce is the only thing that has hit me hard. None of the other ages bothered me.
I hear them talking mid-life crisis and I go WTF when do I get mine? I never had a sports car, my family boat I sold before I was 40. The boat I have now I had to get because the contract I had. (river was too low for a prop after a while)
Fifty was a breeze, 40 was ?, 30 I was a newlywed (2 years).
I'm at a loss here.

30, but I think it had something to do with the fact I had lost both parents when I was 29. I felt each death aged me 5 years at the least.
40, I didn't care what others thought. 50, still didn't care because I feel young at heart. Maybe dating a guy 8 years younger helped.

50 has been pretty cool so far. I find that I don't stress out as much as I used to. Certain things that seemed so important at 40 doesn't seem so important now.

I cried all day on my 30th birthday, there was no way I could be that old. Found out 3 weeks later that I was pregnant.
