I couldn't have said it better nick....the ultimate goal for many of us is finding that one person who is so special that you want to spend the rest of your life with him/her, that one person who you will grow old with. That is a form of happiness that can't be described with words...not easily, at least.

Companionship from a woman is the need for me. Companionship in general is always sought to have a healthy relationship. Not sure if that is answered correctly.

Yes, a good point,
biologically the term LOVE is a finite period.
We all know that we will do some of the dumbest and most dangerous things for what we call LOVE.
Sometimes LOVE dont last forever. Surely 9 out of ten of us when we get married are in LOVE.
After time, it fades or hope is lost.
Thats one thing about marriage.Some people say it is just a piece of paper.
But. in reality, it is a committment to LOVE.
The sickness and in health, you know the drill.
I guess true never ending LOVE is rare.It is a committment to be with someone, no matter what.
Companionship, you can get that with a dog.
Sht, if I knew the answer,
I would not be here looking so hard,
for LOVE.

 I agree agent....... I have had the companionship and now I want/need more than that, life is too short.
Love is much much deeper than companionship. Anyone can find companionship! It is a very special thing to find love

I ask because so many threads are saturated with sex talk, the physical. Of course, sex will beat out emotions anytime. Relationship threads are full of past relationships scenarios seeking closure, or present relationship situations for those that seek advice. It's all good.........but when will we discuss the wants and needs. People assume it's sufficient info on their profiles. But to discuss women can gain insight and vice versa. Where's the serious discussion??
If a man is seeking companionship, does that mean female companionship as in, somebody to be with? You know, the "I've been married I'm just looking to spend time with someone".........
Or are you genuinely seeking a partner, a companion in a relationship not just a relationship that keeps you company.
Honest replies would probably give so much insight to women in knowing the difference and understanding those distinctions...........

That is an excellent question.
My honest answer is I look companionship of a woman first and if I like what I am learning about her through that process, I'll seek for being a partnership.
My opinion is, if a person looks for a partnership first, they are choosing with their brain. I want my heart to choose who I want to be in partnership with.

The genuine companionship of the woman that I want to spend my time with. Hopefully being "the one" where as they're my friend, companion, lover. Basically the whole package and hopefully it'll be the longlasting type.
