Would love to go but have prior commitments.....

We are celebrating my step-dad's 61st birthday tonight and then tomorrow I pick up my bio-dad at the airport to spend the week with him. Then, I also get to deal with a troublesome 14 year old boy who does not want to give me any respect.

I feel like Rodney Dangerfield for some odd reason.

Do some dancing for me. As soon as I have some open time I am going to have to come and join you all dancing. I need to do that.....get those frustrating teenagitis dealings out of my system.

Ya'll have a great weekend.

that gratitude dance is some funny stuff. I'll venture out to listen to some tunes but beyond the white man dance and now the gratitude dance which i'm pretty sure would bring the place to tears i'll be remaining seated.

You may have missed them at the casino dancing....but hopefully you won't miss us when you meet us for dinner on Monday night. Same casino but go up the stairs to that restaurant and we are usually sitting in there. Just make sure you study our pics so you know where to find us. I will make a sign that says DH and put it on the middle of the table for you to find us.

Hope everyone had fun dancing.
Tam get better....we don't need you getting sick. Do I need to bring you some soup and pamper you girlie.......

Whylie.....Repeat after me......."I love my child....I love my child....I love my child". Or at least that is what I keep repeating to myself because of my teenage son who does the same thing. You just gotta be there for them and let them make their own mistakes. Lot easier said than done I know.

One of these days when you get the chance...come on out and join us for dinner, bingo, dancing or the camping trip. We also have other various activities that go on throughout each month.

let them make mistakes.....letting them so disrespect to you as a parent is something entirely different. Many parents try to make thier kids "their friend", don't work. Same as being buddy buddy with your employee, it flat don't work.

As a parent it is our job to teach our children, best we can. Yes they are all going to make mistakes, we all do. But if they show disrespect at age, omg, what are they going to be like as teenagers or adults. At age one, that is the last thing a child should be doing. Now I will say, if both parents are not in the house, then that becomes a whole set of problems in itself.

I remember the first time my son swore at me, I said you just used up your one chance. He never swore at me again, well until he was 23 that is....LOL.

Until both my kids were 18, I never let them hear me swear. If my x and I had issues, we took it away from the kids. Both my kids, knew right up front what would happen if they did or they did that. So when they did, as all kids will do, bingo they knew what was coming. I told my kids, you can do anything you want, anytime you want, as long as you are willing to suffer the consequences.

Now unfortunetly for my son, his mom had other ideas of how to raise him...she should be oh so proud now. Long story..wont go into it here..

If they don't learn respect for others early, they will not have respect for others later.

Boy you hit that nail on the head Gary.. Good Job!!
I think Parents need to learn what tough love is all about!! instead of lettling the kids run rampart teach them some respect for you and others. Working around kids of all ages I see where most of them are not taught manners or to respect themselves and others. I realize they do not have the upbringing we had as kids because both parents have to be out in the work force to survive and a lot of parents are trying to bring them up single handed. These children will some day rule the world.
There's my $ .02 worth.

Perhaps if about six of the women just picked him up and carried him out onto the dance floor and set him down -- he could at least do the Rock Lobster. Now that, I would pay money for!!!
