 Gee, I thought having mom cook dinner that I could pack as a picnic was the cheap way to go!

Seriously though, I think my perfect date would be hitting up starbucks and then taking a walk by a lake, or river, or some other scenic area to talk would be nice.

 Coffee shop... It's perfect, you have nothing to do but converse... You can learn a lot about somebody really quickly in a comfortable environment... And when the conversation sucks, you would be surprised how fast you can chug a hot coffee...

 I mean a perfect date, not necessarily a first date. Though ice skating would be nice... Tried that once, I'm not good at all, but we had a good laugh.

 Well Photo... I don't mean to argue, I agree with most of what you say...
Coffee shops? how trendy and devastatingly cliched.

Haha... That is true, and hilarious... But there is a reason that they are so "overused"... It's been my experience that "too much fun" on the first date is a killer... You have a good time during the activity and when you picture it you picture it with her/him... You confuse the excitement easily and no matter how cool they are, they won't live up to that initial excitement on a "normal" second date... And with all of the fun, you may ignore the important personality tweaks that can't be missed during a one-on-one conversation without distractions...

But, the perfect date period? A two-day trip away... Just up north camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, whatever... No cell phones, no email, just the two of you...
