well like the title says i am a truck driver and I seem to be having the hardest time finding a good woman that wants to spend time with me when im not on the road. I dont demand a lot just a phone call a day to see how her day went and simply to see her when im home. Im verry caring and would do anything for the one im with but it seems to be that when a woman finds out what I do for a living they seem to run. help me out here a little bit and id rather just hear back from the women on this one since men honestly this is a matter that only a woman can handle. thank you all for your time and effort in advance to help me with my dilema.

i know the feeling man im a truck driver too wish i had some advice for ya. it takes a special kind of woman to b with a truck driver but they are out there. thats some of what killed my marriage. but keep your head up youll find the one for u

yeah that seems like the case for a lot of drivers out there. ive been driving for about a year and a half and been through several relationships, all ended because they didnt trust me or they were fooling arround behind my back. my biggest problem is that im probobly too trusting and easy to please i guess.

Sometimes being a truck driver over the road is hard on relationships. I had a friend in your same boat, it's rough but hang in there Mr. Curt. My friend found someone and you can too.

I would like a relationship with a truck driver as long as he is respectful and does his part on keeping the relationship. My problem is my age as I'm in my 60's and would have to date one 55 at least and most of them are already taken.

I have to agree that trucking and families are hard items to mix together but it's not impossible. My supervisor at work is married to a long hauler and they are quite happy. She works every day and he calls her every evening, I think it's so sweet hehe. When he is home she devotes her time to him. They have been married for 7 years now. He is 49 and she is 55. It's not impossible as already stated but it will take time to find that special lady for you. I was a long hauler for a while but I was with a bf that drove also. I understand the life of a trucker and I sure wouldn't mind having a trucker bf. My problem is that I work weekends and most likely he would be home alone lol

oh I understand that its not totally impossible. and I appreciate your insight on that. I know I will find her. what im just wondering is where the best places would be to find her. I dont drink accept for special occasions. I hate big crowds so I dont go to bars or clubs. im more of the i have my close net of friends and hang out at home or at a resauraunt type of guy. I love to relax when im home rather than go nuts. and i know you know what im talking about. its tiring being out on the road and then having to be ready in 2 to 4 days just to go back and work after going nuts all your time off. so. what should I do about meeting women? this dating site thing is more of somthing to get advice from people. if I find her on here then that would be awsome. but I have never had too much luck when it comes to "love" on these sites.

Same here about finding "love" on dating sites. I have read "testimonies" of people finding "true love",but, as of yet, I have not found it...lol. I have been on and off the sites for 19 months and to be honest, I am having better "luck" in person. However, I understand that is not much of an "option" for you with "limited" time.
Just want to wish you the "best of luck". Makes me think of the song...Somewhere Out There...

Right on the head there. I have read those testimonials to, and honestly I think most them are BS. When you consider that dating sites are just like in person for many reason exept maybe even a little more critical. You post a picture and tell a little or a lot about yourself. you can either sound conceded or just sweet or like an *as. either way your either in or out of the sceen no matter what you do. They always tell you when you creat your profile "a great Picture and a Great description will get your more responses". now heres the problem with that. what constitutes a great picture or a great description. I have been told I have a great personality, inteligand, and over all just the good nice guy. now when it comes to the whole describing myself there is no way to make oneself sound good without sounding conseeded or anything, do you know what Im trying to say? now another one is, the too little or the "I have never done this before" that just sounds conseded to, makes me think they are so goody goody to ever use these sites to meet people. so, what is one to do. cant say to much nore too little but what regulates too much or too little? I think im going to start a new topic on that one. that way everyone can get advise from everyone.

Let me start by saying I feel your pain brother, lol. Your thread struck me enough that I signed up on this site just to respond to your comments. I work on the road myself with drivers everyday, so I understand your lifestyle. I sometimes don't get home for months. To address your question as to where to find someone, let me begin by assuming you're a van driver since you haven't been driving very long. I work with oversize exclusively so we run in groups and have a lot of interaction with people. Not so for van drivers. When you're on the road you usually deal with the shipper, the receiver, and a few people at the truck stop. That makes it hard, I know.
I think it might help you to think about whether you want a woman to come home to, or a woman to come on the road with you, or perhaps either. I noticed your profile said LDS, which I am also. When you're home, do you have time to go to activities? Is that even the kind of woman you want? If you'd like a woman on the road with you, does your truck reflect that? Do you keep it clean, a place she'd want to be? When you're on the road are you behaving like a man your prospective mate would be proud of? Do you put on a clean shirt, smile, take advantage of various activities available to you on the road? Or do you keep to yourself, not really talking to anyone, not showering all week, going from point a to point b without looking at possible fun side trips when your delivery schedule allows?
I work with a lot of guys that screw around on their wives and talk pretty sleazy. Don't get me wrong, they're really nice guys. I love working with them. They just aren't any kind of guy I'd want to marry.
Keep in mind, these comments come from a girl in the same predicament.  So I'm not sure how helpful any of this can be for you, lol.

Hi to bad u r only 27. I was a truckers wife and we did fine. Me and 1 child would go on the road with him during the summer and come the school yr, i would stay home and send r two children off to school. Had the intention of takin the written test so he could teach me to drive so i could relieve him sometimes. We were married for 22 yrs and being a trucker was not wht ruined our marriage. U keep looking, dont change, there is someone waiting to fall into your life. just be paient. I loved the travel and the education i got from it all plus we got a lot of one on one. if we started getting on each others nerves i would set a trip out. Good luck:

I'm an older female and it wouldn't matter to me if he was a truck driver but a decent male with morals. I've got time to look, but don't want to hang around bars as I'm not going that route. Some of us older ladies have the same problems meeting someone who is who he says he is and an honorable guy. I don't know where to look either as blind dates have become a thing of the past with any of my friends as they don't know any older men who are decent and single emotionally.
