drblackbird4 - I have to disagree with you.
Anyone not getting hits, probably has nothing to do with their photo if the photo(s) is descent. The people who put more effort in to their profile will get better responses than someone who whip one up in 5 minutes.
Maybe the one you made more attractive showed more effort....

You all have to understand, that our capitalistic society has programed us to believe that everyone is sexy and model material. Advertising doesn't show the heavy set woman and the overweight trucker for the adds, they show the sexy hot models (male and female).
All the adds are on fitness and health and beauty, not the real state of affairs for people in there late 30's and on.
arg, I ramble on again.

Yes, it works if you use it to look locally. If you only chat with people half way around the world your dating life may become extinct. Unless you have deep pockets and lots of free time. I've met a few women online, one of which became a good friend.
