Yes, it was mid afternoon as I recall. I've been seeing them regularly lately. The photos were from last year.

Sow and cubs....there were actually 3 cubs but I could never get all four of them in the same frame. That and I wanted to make sure I could win the foot race back to the truck.

Maybe there is some validity there. You do nice work.
By the way, I lived in Denver for nearly 16 years up until Spring of 2004. Then I moved to Glenwood Springs to live there for the second time. Then moved away last summer to where I am now. I love photography and have taken a lot of photos over the years. Before, I used a film camera for a lot of years. Now I use digital, but have kept my film camera around. That is a large turtle! and the one before you is a very large Deer! I had some river otters coming into my pond the last several years but they are hard to photograph, kind of illusive. I was rowing a boat out on the pond and one popped up next to me and startled me big time, even startled my dog. Anyone get a good photo of one out there? they are so cute and entertaining.

The large deer is actually an elk.

thanks Eagle! I knew it was an elk, I just did not want to be a show off! don't you just love Otters! I have tried several times to get photos of the otters but they are to quick for me and I never see them out of the water.
